As part of their science topic of electricity, Y6 learnt about how electricity is used in every day life. They then created intruder alarms using familiar equipment and tested these to see if they would stop someone entering the room!

The year 5 classrooms were turned upside down today and the suspect left handprints everywhere. We investigated different powders and their reactions with water and vinegar to find the culprit! #primaryscience

Year 5 had fantastic trip to Ealing Gurdwara as part of our learning in RE about Sikhism. We entered the Diwan and saw the ornate decorations around the Guru Granth Sahib, enjoyed hearing about Sikh practises from local Sikh leaders & had a tasty meal in the Langar.

Year 5 conducted an experiment on the embankment with Ms Greenaway today. We burned lots of different materials to investigate the effect heat had on each one.

Wow! We were all blown away by the wide range of talents showcased in our Talent Show run by our amazing house captains. Talents included: comedy, magic, singing, gymnastics & even break dancing! It was amazing to see so many children having the opportunity to show their talents!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Generations Together pop-up café where pupils from & older adults in Brent, pitched their ideas for an intergenerational space. The winning idea: an after school club that thinks it’s a restaurant!

Y6 spent Monday at the to explore the Islamic civilisation galleries to consolidate their humanities topic of the Islamic golden age by looking at the wide range of artefacts.

It’s been a busy week in Y6 this week. In art, the children used batik (a traditional Indonesian technique) to make prints, and in science the children went onto the Embankment to classify living things and use microscopes to see the living things up close!

Thank you to for running money workshops for our Y6s. They learnt about the importance of trying to save and how to stay safe using bank cards and online.

Year 6 enjoyed a debating workshop today. They learnt what a debate is and practised the skills needed to successfully debate a motion.

Thank you to for an amazing performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Our Y5 and Y6s loved it!
The children also sang in a recording of a newly written pop song. This was followed by a visit to St Thomas' school, where we performed for the children.

On Thursday a small group of children visited Eastcote Studio, where they had an incredible tour of the studio rooms. A trumpeter and the school string quartet recorded a beautiful rendition of the Beatles' 'Yesterday.'

Nursery have been focusing on the brilliant John Henley’s ‘Stanley’s stick’. They all had a stick to use for imaginative play all week & on Thurs they made them into hobby horses with the help of a recycled sock. As you can imagine, they became instant play companions!
