Shared to Instagram today, the spectacular image captures Queen Margrethe staring off into the distance while seated on a grand golden chair.
Proving you can never have enough accessories, the royal teamed her velvet statement ensemble with a glamorous pair of pearl drop earrings, a matching tiara and a similar necklace.

Her outfit was also adorned with plenty of glistening brooches, while she completed her look with a smattering of makeup - including a bright pink lip.
Making sure her Pearl Poire tiara took centre stage, the monarch - who is marking 50 years on the throne on January 14 - kept her locks back.
The tiara she is wearing was the one she opted for in her first official portrait as Queen of Denmark, when taking the throne in 1972 on the death of her father Frederik IX.
Photographer Per Morten Abrahamsen captured the Queen of Denmark in her majestic pose.
A series of events are planned to mark the monarch’s Golden Jubilee including carriage rides and balcony appearances in Copenhagen.

Several lavish receptions are also reportedly expected to take place, with royalty around Europe thought to be invited.
In September, it was announced the monarch has been hired as the set designer for a new Netflix film.
It was revealed she will design the sets for an adaptation of a romantic fantasy novel by Out of Africa's Karen Blixen, one of Denmark's most internationally recognised female authors.
Queen Margrethe has had a long career as an artist; she has sketched the illustrations for Danish editions of Lord of the Rings and enjoyed exhibitions at galleries including the Arken Museum of Modern Art in Ishoj, southwest of Copenhagen.
