In her biography, the Dutch Crown Princess openly reports that she regularly visits a psychotherapist.

And she's not the only one.

Rotterdam – Young, strong and responsible: Princess Amalia of the Netherlands (18) always looks confident on official occasions.

In her glossy biography "Amalia" she spoke openly about the fact that she doesn't always feel that way.

The daughter of King Willem-Alexander (54) and Queen Máxima (50) published her first book shortly before her 18th birthday in December last year, written by her biographer, the writer and comedian Claudia de Breij (46).

In it, the young royal describes what it's like as heir to the throne to cope with the constant pressure from the media and the public *.

One of her most important strategies: The crown princess regularly goes to a psychotherapist when she feels overwhelmed.

She is said to have started doing this when she was a child.

At the time, her parents sent her to a child psychologist because they were worried about the well-being of the future queen*.

Since then, her book says she's always gone back when she felt she needed to talk to someone.

In the run-up to the publication of the biography, Amalia spoke openly about the difficult topic in numerous Dutch media and on the public broadcaster NOS*.

That went down very well with the Dutch people and she got a lot of encouragement for it.

Among other things, the eldest of the royal couple's three daughters has revealed that if her father were to die suddenly, she would ask her mother to temporarily take over the throne*.

It should stay that way until she feels ready to live up to what is expected of her.

But while all eyes are on Amalia, Queen Máxima* has made amazing announcements as part of a new initiative.

As part of the opening of her foundation "MIND Us", which she launched, she revealed that her daughter Alexia (16) is also in therapy*.

"Like other children and my daughter Alexia, Amalia spoke to people, that's not a problem.

We all have moments and if there is help to be found, why not,” she explains.

The organization supports people between the ages of twelve and 27 who are struggling with mental health problems and also offers help.

And Máxima of the Netherlands has even more to say in her opening speech: She too is said to have sought psychological help herself.

This is reported by the Dutch TV station "RTL Boulevard".

The former commoner is certainly a great role model for many of the Dutch people.

Finally, it gives them the courage and strength to speak openly about this topic, which is still a big taboo in society.
