Detroit Police Officer Sends Savage Message to 49ers Fans Before 2024 NFL Draft
It appears the city of Detroit is having a difficult time getting over last season's NFC Championship game loss to the San Fransisco 49ers.
According to NFL.com's Eric Edholm, who's in Detroit for the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft this Thursday, one local police officer had a less-than-pleasant message for Niners fans looking to make their way to Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza this afternoon.
"Everyone please use the sidewalk — except 49ers fans, who may roam freely in the street," one Detroit police officer said, per Edholm.
The 2024 NFC title game saw Detroit squander a 17-point lead to Brock Purdy and the Niners. San Francisco scored 27 straight points to erase the deficit in the second half en route to an eventual 34-31 victory and trip to the Super Bowl.
So with that said, it's likely 49ers faithful won't receive the warmest of welcomes in Detroit ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft this week.
Day 1 is set to get underway this Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET.
