This large and modern square serves as a gate to Madrid from the North. Chamartin train station, as well as local and long-distance bus stations are nearby. By metro you can get to any part of Madrid.
This is a business district with banks of Puerta de Europa twin falling towers, the Caja (Savings Bank) gilded obelisk, two large hotels, cafes and restaurants.

This is a modern square in the northern part of Castellana. It has two amazing inclined skyscrapers at the left and right side. Also, there is an obelisk by the famous Spanish architect, Calatrava.
The views are spectacular!

To show oneself that one can get out of downtown and the tourist web, check out how real Madrileños live and realize that Madrid, like other cities Is moving quickly into the XXI century. Plaza de Castilla is all of this. It is a cacophony of styles, from the monument to Calvo Sotelo or the obelisk by Calatrava on to the Puerta de Europa by P. Johnson.or the Deposito de Plaza de Castilla and the Fundacion Canal. Just south of the plaza (one block) the Instituto National de Estadistica stands out with its colorful panels. Just North, within easy walking distance the Cuatro Torres stand out on the close horizon. A different Madrid worth seeing nonetheless: history in the peresent tense.

Located in the north of Madrid is Plaza De Castilla ,a really impressive square .
Plaza De Castilla is a modern square roundabout ) ,there are two inclined towers that look very cool called Puerta De Europa Towers ,there's also a modern take on an obelisk known as Caja Madrid Obelisk, theres a cool water feature plus the Jos Calvo Sotelo Monument, its just a really good square to check out if your planning a holiday to Madrid, in my opinion one of the most exciting city's in the world.

Plaza De Castilla is a really nice modern plaza that is well worth checking out especially if you incorporate the visit with a trip to the famous Real Madrid Stadium .
There are some modern buildings surrounding the plaza and some fantastic monuments that make for some great photographic opportunities and the all important selfie.
There are also some nice cafes, bars and restaurants here .
It's most definitely well worth checking out, getting there could not be easier,we jumped the metro down to stop Plaza De Castilla and your in the plaza.
Well worth checking out.

I was in doubt if visiting or not this plaza, since usually i prefer the churches or historical buildings, but when i saw Plaza de Castilla i was satisfided of the choice, like all important places of Madrid it's easly reachable with the subway, and then effectively you find mostly offices, but in my opinion is a nice place to make some pictures, out of the typical zones of historical Madrid

We visited this plaza because it was close to our hotel. It was quiet and had a small garden adjacent to it. Not much to do in the area. If you are near Plaza de Castilla than absolutely stop by, but if not, it isn't worth your time.

Our hotel was in the neighborhood in February. Very industrial area, not much to do. The only good thing about it is that it's a 10 minute walk from Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. However it is a quiet place to stay.

The Plaza de Castilla has four very impressive skyscrapers that are some of the tallest towers in Spain. It gives Madrid a touch of New York City. This plaza is a must see in Madrid.
