Description:
This 90-minute block contains the following two classes. Each class runs for 40 minutes with a 10-minute break in between classes.
First Class: Drawing and Painting: Wolves and Puppies
Experience the incredible world of art while creating fierce and fluffy canines! Come explore colour blending, shading, mark-making and learn about perspective, proportions, silhouette drawing and composition. Have fun experimenting and finding your artistic style.
What’s included in your kit:
•Watercolour paints, set of 8
•Paintbrush
•Watercolour paper pad
•Crayons, set of 16
•Pencil
•Pencil sharpener
•Eraser
•Blank paper
What you need at home:
•A large, flat surface to work on, at least 3’ x 2’
•A stable container for water (an empty yogurt container between 500-750mL in size works really well!)
•Paper towel or a rag for drying your paintbrush
•Newspaper or something to cover the surface you are working on
•Dress for mess (wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy and/or a painting smock/apron)
Second Class: Manga Art
Manga broadly refers to comics and illustrations inspired by the distinctive art style of Japanese comic creators. In this class, you will learn to create and draw your characters in an anime/manga style!
What’s included in your kit:
•Pencil
•Sharpener
•Eraser
•Drawing paper
•Fine liner marker pen
•Markers, set of 8
•Ruler
What you need at home:
•A large, flat surface to work on, at least 3’ x 2’
Notes: This class will be conducted via the Zoom platform. Please ensure your computer, tablet or smartphone is compatible with Zoom and you have Zoom downloaded prior to the first class. You will need a Zoom account to participate. The link to access the class will be sent to you in advance of the class start date.

Each class description contains details about tools, materials and other requirements for each class. If the description of your camp indicates there is a supply kit with registration, we will be facilitating contactless pick-up at the entrance of Place des Arts off Brunette Avenue, where the Spirit Bear statue is according to the following schedule: •From June 29-July 5 between 1:00-4:30pm; please note: Place des Arts will be closed on July 1 for Canada Day •Starting July 6, Monday-Friday between 9:30am-5:00pm and on Tuesdays until 7:00pm; please note: Place des Arts will be closed on August 3 for BC Day Please read the following carefully to ensure we keep each other safe and healthy: •You do not need to book a time, please come during the days and times indicated above. •Parking is available in the aboveground parking lots or the front drop-off area. Please note the underground parkade will not be accessible. •No more than one adult and one student per pick up, please. •Please bring a copy of your receipt (printed or on your mobile device). •You will be greeted by the door and your kit(s) will be retrieved and passed to you. •If you encounter other Summer Fun families, please wait and ensure there is at least 2 meters between you and the other families. •Please plan accordingly to make sure you have picked up your kit prior to your first day of Online Summer Fun
