The liberal voice on “The Five”
Bob Beckel was a TV news pundit and liberal political analyst who hosted the Fox News talk show “The Five” from 2011 until 2015 and briefly again in 2017. He was a co-host of the show with Greg Gutfeld and Dana Perino until he was fired for making an insensitive remark to an African American employee. He previously left the show in 2015 after having back surgery. In between his two stints hosting “The Five,” he was an election commentator for CNN. From 2005 until 2015, he was a columnist for USA Today where he did a point-counterpoint column as the liberal voice with conservative friend Cal Thomas. Prior to his TV news career, Beckel was the campaign manager for Democratic candidate Walter Mondale in the 1984 Presidential election.
