Secure patient portals enable patients across the Military Health System to better manage their health care and engage with their health care team in a secure environment. Using our secure patient portals, our patients can:

• Make/cancel/reschedule appointments
• Communicate securely with providers
• Get e-visits
• Request prescription refills
• Request prescription renewals
• View laboratory results and some radiology reports

We currently have two secure patient portals in use across the MHS, TRICARE Online and the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. As DOD's new electronic health record, MHS GENESIS, deploys across the MHS, it will be replacing TRICARE Online in waves.

Patients will use either TRICARE Online or the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. Until MHS GENESIS is fully deployed, there will be some overlap in services. If you're not sure which to sign up for check your local military hospital or clinic website. Both patient portals can be accessed with a DS Logon, Common Access Card or DFAS MyPay Account.
