I don't remember what I was doing when I found the poster for Partner(s), but I instantly knew I had to see the film attached to this horrific shallowfake. I like the three leads, despite Jay Harrington's unfortunate coiffure, and I'd never seen such terrible photoshopping in my life.
I shall steer clear of the politics as much as possible, because I'm not qualified to assess whether or not this has aged well in the intervening 15 years. But, looking at this as simply a structural exercise in romantic comedy, constructed to amuse and tug at the heartstrings, I can't really recommend it.
A lot of, perhaps all, rom-coms are built on contrivance and coincidence, but this seems to exist…
Thinking it will boost his career, an enterprising lawyer (Jay Harrington) exploits a rumor that he is gay.
Only in movies would this ever happen or be successful.
dave diamond wrote and directed this masterpiece and then he fell off the grid and i can’t find anything he’s done since but i hope he’s doing okay.
i can’t tell if this is a satire on how straight ppl view gay people made for gay people OR if it is just wildly homophobic and honestly i don’t care. this shit was a blast
gay michael ian black stuns as always but we needed him to kiss a man… if i was there he would’ve done
Screw this dumb, fucked ass movie. Justice for Claire Dunphy, she slayed way too hard and the rest of them couldn’t handle it fr 💔😔
idk what about this movie is so fascinating to me, its like it operates on the logic that job training videos do.
