Ah, Parenthood. Why did that show ever have to end? If you’ve just finished all six seasons and you’re already missing the Braverman family something fierce, this list of TV shows and movies like Parenthood might ease some of that post-show pain.  Nothing can exactly replace a beloved show, but if you can find a few new shows like Parenthood, you can find new favorites.

Without question, the first movie like Parenthood is, well, Parenthood. The TV series was loosely based on this 1989 comedy-drama film, which boasts an impressive cast. It’s a must see for any of the many Parenthood fans. Other movies which might appeal to you include Father of the Bride, Little Miss Sunshine, August: Osage County, Margot at the Wedding, and Mrs. Doubtfire. All are filled with quirky characters, and generally odd families doing their best to hold it together. The themes will resonate with Parenthood’s fans.
