The current affairs programme has been on air since 1953 and unveiled huge scandals in the past, including exposing sex crimes in the Vatican and PPE failings during the pandemic.

On Tuesday (26th September), it was announced that a new edition would air next week.

But what is it about and when will it be on TV? Here's everything you need to know.

When is Panorama next on TV?

New episodes of Panorama usually air on Monday nights on BBC One. However, there are occasionally specials throughout the week. The time varies, but it's usually around 7pm.

Episodes are often repeated on BBC Two and can also be streamed on BBC iPlayer.

On Monday (2nd October) at 9pm, the series will air a special hour-long edition of the programme.

What is the next episode of Panorama about?

At the time of writing, the subject matter of the special episode is yet to be confirmed.

The announcement for the upcoming show simply repeats a general overview of what Panorama is and reads: "Special Investigative documentary."

The mystery surrounding the upcoming show has sparked speculation that the Panorama episode could contain allegations, similar to the recent Dispatches episode that accused Russell Brand of rape, sexual assault and abuse.

These allegations emerged following an investigation conducted by The Times, The Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches.

Channel 4 did not release any details about the episode before it aired, although Brand issued a video statement announcing ‘very serious allegations’ were being made against him that he ‘absolutely’ denied.
