Sherrelle, I am sorry if I appeared to overstate my specific knowledge. I used to work at the NYC theater that puts on that Flamenco Festival. Because the subject of "tourist concerts" (in cities with long European musical histories ... ) is a frequent topic on this board, and because I spent most of my career as a dance stage technician, I just wanted to get my observation on the record. There is nothing wrong with promoting performance arts at all levels. But once you get into "art", it is important to mention standards. And (although you certainly did not do so ... ) it becomes difficult to deny the right for someone to have an opinion!
I have never seen this company in person, which makes me unqualified to advise you not to go!
But I did think that the level of performance I saw in the video was not at the international touring level. In fairness, while on a small-ship cruise in Tahiti, we saw (on the ship, in a rather small room without a stage) a local cultural-heritage Polynesian dance group, with performers from 10 to 60. I mean to make a direct comparison with serious, devoted American groups like Irish Step Dancing. The proximity of the performance went a long way to make up for the non-professional character of the event.
We were able to get a into a (run by the facility) tour of the Palau. But in other cities, I have gone to performances just to get a view of a historic theater. I only wanted you to make your purchase with your "eyes open".
