BIOL 371 - Ornithology


4 credits
A study of the ecology and evolution, form and function and, classification and identification of birds of the world, with an emphasis on Virginia species. In the laboratory, students will learn to classify and identify, by sight and sound, the birds of the world with an emphasis on species of the eastern United States. Lab work, field activities, and independent study are required, including weekend field trips. 3 lecture and one 3-hour lab periods.

Prerequisite(s): BIOL 251  with minimum grade of C- or permission of instructor.
