Help with Dynamic Planet, Fossils, and Ornithology
I'm doing science olympiad for the first time and I don't really know what I can put in my binders for any of these events especially dynamic planet. If you guys have any advice or resources for any of these three events please comment.

Dynamic has a list of resources on the soinc website!
yeah but i don’t know how to write the notes. do i use bullets or full sentences and how do i categorize everything
I just categorize the same way the rules does and I use bullet points bc it’s a binder so we have unlimited space
alright rules are released next tuesday
i’m in division c by the way
My main tip is to keep your binders organized. A ton of people just slap information into it, and don’t know where to look during the event. Make sure you know how to navigate it, and keep the most important information near the front of the binder. Don’t really know much about those events, but I do know dynamic planet has a list of recourses... somewhere. I think it’s the scioly website. Good luck this year!
What I do for binder events is use tabs for each section. And I try to remember as much material as I can, but remembering where something is in your binder is the most important.
For fossils I usually list the IDs according to the rule book and use that pg in the book as my table of contents then have all the miscellaneous info in teh back. Also tab all the differnt guys in their own section. It’s a good rule of thumb to take about one page or so of notes for each species
http://people.eku.edu/ritchisong/avian_biology.htm has a ton of information for ornithology
I competed in Ornithology for the first time last year! It is great to have pictures of birds and there names (and other stuff about each bird). You should also study bird sounds. Last year at least we were allowed to bring a field guide along with the binder too
thank you!!
