Orange Livebox, Telephone problems

Apologies if you've already done this but if in doubt the first port of call is to completely switch off your Livebox, make a cup of tea then switch it all back on again. If the 'phone service doesn't come back up then it's a matter for Orange, but do check that you haven't been unsubscribed from the service for some reason (details will be found in your Orange "espace client").

We had exactly the same problem last summer. Internet fine but the phone not working. We made three visits to Orange in Coutances and then gave up and went to Granville where they said that there was indeed a problem and sent a telephone engineer to the house to check it out. He spent two hours crawling all over the house and then had to get into his van to drive ro aomeqhere where his mobile worked. In the end the line was restored with no charge to us - it was clearly a faulit on their side but they were not going to tell us. You have to persist and insist on an engineer visit - and - if possible avoide Orange in Coutances.
Thank you one and all. Livebox phone issue resolved by doing an online test via the Orange
website where it found a fault. It did not say where but it gave the option to do an online chat with an advisor. As it was specific to the phone problem it did not take long. Within maybe an hour the
problem was resolved. The only thing was that there was no explination as to what the problem was. I assume that the fault was with Orange.
Peace at last in the household!!
