Besides launching the P60 series, HUAWEI also released several new products in China yesterday, including the 2023 version of the HUAWEI MatePad 11. Featuring some neat new features, including the industry’s first “paper-like” display, read on to find out more.

Let’s start with the screen, which is an 11-inch 120Hz IPS LCD with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. HUAWEI touted the panel as a “paper-sensitive” soft light screen, which transforms the mirror reflection into a softer diffused reflection which reduces 97 per cent of any interfering light in the environment.

Moreover, the company promised an enhanced handwriting experience on the tablet with the M-Pencil thanks to the ultra-low 2ms latency and the latter’s nylon elastomer tip. Besides that, the display also features Rhine non-reflective certification, SGS low visual fatigue gold certification and double Rhine certification.

Under the hood, the MatePad 11 2023 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It’s also equipped with a 7250mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging.

Other notable specs include quad speakers, HUAWEI-patented base station array WiFi antenna and colour options of either Obsidian Black, Island Blue, Crystal White or Streamer Purple.

In China, the MatePad 11 2023 is available in two versions, a standard edition or a “soft” version for note-taking and drawing with the aforementioned “paper-like” screen. The standard version is priced at CNY2299 or ~RM1487 for 6/128GB and CNY2499 or ~RM1620 for 8/128GB.
