Hang your old landline telephones wherever you need!
Love the Leviton wall plate. I have an old Western Electric 228 wall telephone with the male modular jack still intact. The phone jack is a simple RJ11 connection near the bottom of the wall. Since my phone is for the wall, I want to hang it near the enterance of the hallway. I already brought the 4 wire lug line cord here on Amazon, so I simply had to screw in those wires in the metal frame. The newest color scheme is a bit different, but it goes yellow wire to “Aux”, red wire to “R1”, light blue wire to “T1”, and white wire to “GND”. After finding a good stud in the wall to hold the unit, I just use wood screws to place it at a proper height. The old modular jack fit perfect with the Leviton’s connector, and the telephone was able to be slotted on the two bolts on the wall plate. My entire old telephone copper line is powered by the X-Link Gateway, which sends 60 volts into a wall phone jack throughout my home. The X-Link is connected by my cellular phone’s Bluetooth.
