Clouds increase, rain returns overnight Friday into Saturday | WTOL 11 Weather

Increasing clouds will be expected near and after midnight with rain chances arriving after 4 a.m. Saturday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Dry weather is expected Friday evening to ring in the weekend, but temperatures will drop back to the 50s, so wear a light jacket.

There is also the expected arrival of a very strong G4 geomagnetic storm that may bring a chance of the Northern Lights across Ohio and Michigan.

The best chance of viewing may be near and just after midnight before the clouds quickly increase. The peak of the geomagnetic storm is expected near or shortly after 2 a.m.

The rain that arrives very early Saturday morning will be ending near or shortly after daybreak. A window of sunshine will be expected by 8 a.m.

It will be a mainly dry day into Saturday afternoon with just a brief chance of an isolated sprinkle. It will be breezy, brisk and chilly with highs in the lower 60s.

Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine through the afternoon with wind gusts to 30 mph expected.

Mother's Day will start chilly in the 40s with bright sunshine and warmer afternoon weather. Highs are expected to reach toward 70 degrees.

Rain chances will return early next week on Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be into the middle 70s on Monday before a cooler breeze on Tuesday drops highs back into the 60s.

More mid-week sunshine with highs in the low 70s for Wednesday and Thursday.
