What travelers are saying
- Diane KColorado Springs, CO178 contributionsThis place is spectacular. Obviously we didn't stay in the Biltmore House, we stayed at the Estate Inn. The amenities were as nice as any I've experienced, plus a real red rose, robes and slippers, luxurious bathroom products, a bottle of wine, and a coffee table book. We also had tickets to the Chihuly exhibit. The grounds are remarkable. The dining was 'top shelf'. Great service.Written May 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JohnAnnColumbia_MDColumbia, MD1,866 contributionsWe drove the Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee to Asheville starting at about 9:30 am on a Monday. There were very few cars on the road until noon. The driving was easy and pleasurable as long as you shift to lower gears to slow down ahead of hills and curves instead of using your brakes. The driving is relaxing as long as you keep your speed down. If a car catches up to you, please take a few seconds to pull off the road at an overlook or a pull off to let them pass. You will both experience a much happier day. It was a pleasure to drive such a well designed parkway.Written April 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elisa TWoodbury, CT11 contributionsIt was a very hot summer day but it was worth it! So much history to see and learn! My children were 10 and 7, they enjoyed it but conked out before we could see all levels of the inside.Written May 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael AChesapeake, VA1,248 contributionsGreat place to learn about Orville and Wilbur Wright and the first powered flight. Beautiful full size replica of the flyer. One of the few places where you can stand right where history happened. If you can, listen to one of the ranger talks. They are always well done and I formative. Be sure to walk up to the Memorial for some great views and don't miss the life-size sculpture behind the memorial.Written May 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 924lesawTexas101 contributionsI can not say enough great things about this fabulous museum. And it is free. Billy Graham museum is actually called A journey of Faith. It is do well done. What a man of God he was and he was and is loved and respected by so many. It is the #1 place to visit and is worth a trip to Charlotte.Written May 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Diane KColorado Springs, CO178 contributionsThe Arboretum was just lovely! Nice trails, good maps, plenty of wildlife. This is a beautiful place to visit. We spent a couple of hours there, and didn't come close to seeing everything. Bring your walking shoes and your camera.Written May 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NW748Washington428 contributionsWe really appreciate that Raleigh has a variety of free museums for the public to enjoy. There is parking on the street, or in parking lots. We went on a Sunday and it was really crowded. It made it hard to look at a lot of things and so we sort of rushed through the museum. This is a lot bigger than it looks, multiple stories and 2 buildings connected by bridge ways. It looked like they had some neat dinosaur exhibits, but you had to get timed admissions to enter so we missed seeing that. They also had some imax shows that you could pay for. Nice way to spend a bit of time in the city on a rainy day, but would be more enjoyable when not so busy.Written May 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RGS4 contributionsWell worth the price of admission. This place is very informative while keeping you interested and educating you to the history of the Civil Rights Movements in this country.Written May 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tennesseeangieHarrison, Tennessee2 contributionsOn top of the HUGE dune is a perfect place to watch the sunset! Such a fun and unusual experience! Websites all said the park was open 8 AM to 8 PM - but it was open to 9 PM, allowing time for us to see the sunset. A little bit of climb up to get there, but totally worth it!Written May 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - klay36Roanoke, VA690 contributionsLove love love this place. Prepare for a lot of walking. The newer areas are coming along very nicely! - Janet O127 contributionsThis is a wonderful must see waterfall. It is a fairly easy place to access and be able to actually walk behind the waterfall and not get too wet. We are in our 70's and had no trouble going to it. We also visited the Looking Glass and Bridal Vail waterfalls which you see from the parking lots but this one was by far was the best. Although, you can see all three in a day and we would recommend seeing them all if you have time.Written April 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
