Marcello Bottoli

Founder and Managing Partner

Marcello has 35 years of experience actively leading, operating and investing in consumer lifestyle companies across Europe and the U.S.

After an early career in brand management and consulting at Procter & Gamble in France and the US and then BCG in France and Italy, Marcello spent the next two decades in managerial and operational roles. First as EVP and Executive Board member of Benkiser, then Reckitt Benckiser in Spain, France, The Netherlands and the UK and then as Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton in Paris, leading the Company through the trying times of 9/11.

In 2004, he was invited by a group of private equity firms to invest in and lead Samsonite from Boston. Under his leadership as President and CEO, the company went through a restructuring and turn around, from near bankruptcy to a successful trade sale in 4 years.

He then went on to become an investor and joined Advent International as Operating Partner for their consumer, luxury and entertainment vertical between 2010 and the end of 2015. During those same years he also and separately served on the board of Pandora A/S, the Danish-based jewellery business. Following an abysmal stock performance, he was asked by the Board of Pandora to step in as Interim CEO in Copenhagen and lead the restructuring and turnaround of the business which he successfully initiated before serving as the Chairman of the Board of the company until December 2014.

In 2016 Marcello launched EVCP, as a series of VPF co-investment vehicles, which acquired minority participations in several consumer lifestyle portfolio companies in the UK, Spain, Luxemburg, The US, Canada and Finland.
