About
The crashing waters of Niagara Falls—comprising two American falls and one Canadian—are truly a sight to behold. Get up close on a boat ride (be prepared to get soaked!), enjoy amazing aerial views from the Skylon Tower or on a helicopter tour, stroll along the White Water Walk, or hit the Journey Behind the Falls attraction that offers views of the falls from below and behind. Adventure seekers can also go zip-lining, jet-boating, hiking and cycling with the falls as the backdrop. For a truly magical experience, stay after dark when the falls are illuminated. For peak water flow, visit between June and August. – Tripadvisor

- LoJo466Bayville, New Jersey400 contributionsThis is the side….You want to be on. And stay at embassy suites falls view by Hilton. Don’t look no farther, choose the Canadian side. You can easily walk across the bridge n explore the US side, it’s only a half an hour away. Go for it! You got this.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 25, 2023
- Jane NLondon, United Kingdom970 contributionsA Must SeeIt's a fantastic sight, the amount of water going over the falls is tremendous. You must also do the boat which goes right up to the falls - you will get wet! However, you get up and close to the American Falls as well. The town itself is tacky but the area around the Falls is lovely. Take your time to look around and view the Falls from different places.Visited September 2022Written May 5, 2023
- Shoequeen99Bradford, United Kingdom6 contributionsUnmissable experience - Niagara Falls was amazingWe recently visited Toronto and no visit would have been complete without seeing Niagara Falls. We looked at going independently but were recommended to use Get Your Guide by a friend so did this. From start to finish the process was easy. We only booked the night before but the communication was excellent. Our guide was called Kaleb and he was excellent. He shared his knowledge of the area and kept us all entertained. As we were visiting out of season we avoided the crowds so 4 hours at the falls was just perfect, the sun even made an appearance. Take a packed lunch as food outlets are limited and quite expensive. Definitely do the Hornblower experience though you really experience the power of the falls from up close. Excellent value for money.Visited March 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 8, 2023
- Chris FCary, North Carolina32 contributionsAllow a Day for Canadian Side and be Sure to Buy Combination PassesSpent second day of our trip visiting Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. Definitely want to buy one of the combination passes that includes WeGo busses, incline railway, Journey Behind the Falls, The Fury, the Power Station, the Tunnel, White water Walk, Aero Car. All great but could have passed on the Fury. Bus transportation and Incline were huge pluses particularly with our hotel (Embassy Suites) at the very end. Went with the middle pass but you can go one higher which includes more but for the money, the middle one was perfect for us. Walked from Rainbow Bridge to our hotel and back on leaving, even with suitcase. Lots of chain restaurants but hard to find local cuisine. Did have pizza at Zippys one night.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 27, 2023
- professoressadarteStaunton, Virginia301 contributionsLots to see at NiagaraWe loved experiencing Niagara Falls. We did the boat ride and behind the falls, but there are other quality places to visit nearby, as well as a midway with games and go carts for those who want those activities, and a bus system to take you there. Our hotel room had a great view and it was interesting to watch the changes with different light at different times of day.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 10, 2023
- DougManchesterPoynton, United Kingdom177 contributionsJust WowI have seen this on YouTube and in photos but you have to see it in person as it’s truly awe inspiring and you get such a feeling of the power of the water. We went early on a Sunday as it gets quite busy after lunchtime. It’s definitely one ticked off my bucket list!Visited June 2023Traveled with friendsWritten June 12, 2023
- Karen36 contributionsAmazingWe parked in the big lot at goat island. Horseshoe falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil falls can all be seen here. Goat Island is also where Cave of the Winds is located. The trolley for $3 each will take you to Maid of the Mist and more awesome views. The very best views are from the Canadian side. Also on the Canadian side is the cute little town of Niagara on the Lake. The earlier you can get there in the mornings the less crowded. Only an awesome God could have created something so amazing.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 19, 2023
- Chris2pher50Sharon, Pennsylvania18 contributionsFantastic stay!Upon arrival as always, greeted with a smile and the warm chocolate chip cookies! This is always the best place to stay! The staff is very helpful and attentive! I hotel is very clean and kept that way on a continuous basis. All the attractions are within walking distance and you can even try you luck in the Casino. Only one downfall I can think of at this property, you have to pay for parking of your vehicle during your stay.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 24, 2023
- Ann-MarieHarlow, United Kingdom10 contributionsAmazing experienceThe falls are stunning and definitely nice to view from both the American and Canadian sides (I personally think it’s prettier from the Canadian side)! Fireworks at night are great too! Lots to do in the area but all quite expensive! I would highly recommend heading to the falls! Go on a boat tour, do the journey beyond the falls tunnels and visit the American side! All give great but different views!Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 25, 2023
- PSimms712 contributionsBeautiful fallsMust see at least once in your life. Beautiful falls. Very touristy and commercialized. But still beautiful to visit. I would recommend the Canadian side. But it’s probably still pretty from the American side because they have a 1/2 bridge going out to see them. Canadian side looks at the falls straight on.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 28, 2023

Beautiful Falls! We took the behind the falls tour. It is priced at a very reasonable rate. The lower deck was closed due to weather, however, you do get to view the falls up close and personable through an opened window and opened area. You can feel the power of the falls vibrating the walls of the tunnels. The water is a beautiful color that is due to the minerals that are in it. Make sure to bring your camera for great photo opportunities. There were a lot of people on the day we visited but we were still able to go through in a short period of time so it is not an all day event.

We stayed within walking distance and walked to and around the falls twice while we were there. Being the second week of January ,the was no crowd to speak of. The falls/river were not iced over but all the fencing around was coated. It was an 8 hour drive from vermont but it is worth the drive, espically with the lights on at night so pretty,so powerful!!

My wife and myself live in Brampton about 1 hour and 20 minutes away from the falls and we often visit the falls as we enjoy the walk along Niagara Parkway watching the American and Canadian Falls.
When you get along the Canadian Falls you often get a nice mist that keeps you cool and slightly wet, which is amazing on a Hot Day. You simply can never get bored of the falls... well if you stay for more than 3 days you might as you seen it to many times day after day lol! 2 days max is good.
If you want to pay for premium food restaurants and want the experience than Clifton Hills and Victoria Ave will give you that. Just come knowing your budget will need to be a few hundred dollars per day for 2 people.
If you want a discount trip with experience I recommend the restaurants and outlets down Lundy’s Lane past on or after Drummond Rd. That will save you a few hundred dollars.
I also recommend a trip to Niagara on The Lake... a good intersection is Queen St and King St. If you google it you will find it. Spectacular views and shops here. Great place to hang out if you stay for a few days.
Cheers!

I went during covid times, so all business along the Falls were closed.
If you go while still there is daylight, you can see the birds swaying in the wind. At night, they become shining particles, burning on and off.
Unforgettable the first time that you saw the falls at night, the brilliance of
the lightning and the colorful haze sync to create an atmospheric place to breathe.

Absolute must for everyone. I think these falls are one of the most beautiful sights in the whole country. Go early morning at sunrise, when the air is so fresh and the area is not crowded yet. Make sure to take a boat ride into the falls, and heads up for starbucks goers, the prices are quite a bit higher than locations outside falls area.

The tumble of the water over the falls was mesmerizing. Part of me had to resist the urge to leap over the lip along with all that water. The view is free and open to the public, but if you want to park nearby, prepare to pay a premium. If you are OK with walking a bit, it gets cheaper further away.

Visited recently at the beginning of January 2020 and even though it was cold we wrapped up warm. The views and falls are stunning I’ve been here on several occasions and always enjoy my stay. Lots of nice places to eat and loads of activities and attractions I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Only 5% of Tourists are here now, walking around enjoying socially distancing in a covid free zone. Great Hotel prices throughout the Falls though up to $50 extra parking costs per day may have you staying at Cadillac Motel for hassle free parking included. Some Restaurants like Bravo have closed for good like many small Business. Public bathrooms only existed at the Canada Outlet Mall with one person allowed in at a time Guarded by Security. Tim Hortons and McDonalds allowed customer washroom facilities. Great vacation stay overall with very Friendly Locals as per usual. Many Thanks.

I wish I could split this into two reviews. My first review is of the falls. They are amazing, I have never seen anything that compares to them. I could sit and watch them for hours in awe of their power and grandness. It makes me sad that humans were able to come and turn it into a tourist attraction before society had the foresight to protect places like this by turning them into national parks. Can you imagine how spectacular these falls would look inside an undisturbed natural landscape? It would without a doubt be one of the best national parks in the world. To see these massive waterfalls and the gorge with raging rapids flowing through them would be something unforgettable.
This brings me to the other part of my review, the town of Niagara Falls. Everytime I come here it feels more and more like Las Vegas East. Gaudy casinos and tourist attractions line the streets. Souvenir shops are everywhere. I hate that instead of being surrounded by nature these waterfalls have casino signs and hotels as a backdrop. At least on the American side a state park acts as a small buffer from development but you can't escape that these falls now exist to sell things to tourists.

The view from Canada is gorgeous. The falls are a true sight to be seen. I recommend buying one of the passes they offer to really get a bang for your buck and the WEGO bus system is a true asset.

Is there any restrictions on visiting from the USA now? What is the closest airport?
Marika Santiago
Astoria, NY125 contributions
You need your passport I do know that ,be prepared for a series of questions starting with: how many people are with you and what is the reason to the visit. Their restrictions are soely on :alcohol, weapons, drugs and humans not mentioned in first question with documentation. If you go to other provinces in Canada you may need to have a French language book or translator to assist you. Ottawa Mcdonald- Cartier airport is your best bet In my opinion due to familiar names in Canada to be honest because, my husband and I drove up to Canada and up to Toranto from New York.

How would I get to St. Catharines from Niagara Falls and then back on public transportation?
I am planning a trip to Niagara Falls for the summer. I would be coming from the US side, so would be able to walk across the Rainbow Bridge to get into Canada. I saw that the #40 and #50 buses go between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, but-
1. Can I pay with cash (I'm sure I can find somewhere to convert USD to CAD) or do I need a specific card?
2. How do I get from the bridge and from the Falls themselves to the Niagara Falls bus station without a car? On Google, it looked like it was a 15 minute drive away.
3. Similarly, where I want to go in St. Catharines is not right next to the bus station there; would my regular Uber or Lyft app that I use when I'm in the US still work when I'm in Canada?

There are several wineries in the area. Your group may enjoy wine tasting at one or several wineries.

That's not alot of time. Minimum two hours return by cab or Uber. If traffic is bad, your screwed.
Go to cn tower instead.
