About
The crashing waters of Niagara Falls—comprising two American falls and one Canadian—are truly a sight to behold. Get up close on a boat ride (be prepared to get soaked!), enjoy amazing aerial views from the Skylon Tower or on a helicopter tour, stroll along the White Water Walk, or hit the Journey Behind the Falls attraction that offers views of the falls from below and behind. Adventure seekers can also go zip-lining, jet-boating, hiking and cycling with the falls as the backdrop. For a truly magical experience, stay after dark when the falls are illuminated. For peak water flow, visit between June and August. – Tripadvisor

- LoJo466Bayville, New Jersey400 contributionsThis is the side….You want to be on. And stay at embassy suites falls view by Hilton. Don’t look no farther, choose the Canadian side. You can easily walk across the bridge n explore the US side, it’s only a half an hour away. Go for it! You got this.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten April 25, 2023
- Jane NLondon, United Kingdom970 contributionsA Must SeeIt's a fantastic sight, the amount of water going over the falls is tremendous. You must also do the boat which goes right up to the falls - you will get wet! However, you get up and close to the American Falls as well. The town itself is tacky but the area around the Falls is lovely. Take your time to look around and view the Falls from different places.Visited September 2022Written May 5, 2023
- Shoequeen99Bradford, United Kingdom6 contributionsUnmissable experience - Niagara Falls was amazingWe recently visited Toronto and no visit would have been complete without seeing Niagara Falls. We looked at going independently but were recommended to use Get Your Guide by a friend so did this. From start to finish the process was easy. We only booked the night before but the communication was excellent. Our guide was called Kaleb and he was excellent. He shared his knowledge of the area and kept us all entertained. As we were visiting out of season we avoided the crowds so 4 hours at the falls was just perfect, the sun even made an appearance. Take a packed lunch as food outlets are limited and quite expensive. Definitely do the Hornblower experience though you really experience the power of the falls from up close. Excellent value for money.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten May 8, 2023
- Chris FCary, North Carolina32 contributionsAllow a Day for Canadian Side and be Sure to Buy Combination PassesSpent second day of our trip visiting Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. Definitely want to buy one of the combination passes that includes WeGo busses, incline railway, Journey Behind the Falls, The Fury, the Power Station, the Tunnel, White water Walk, Aero Car. All great but could have passed on the Fury. Bus transportation and Incline were huge pluses particularly with our hotel (Embassy Suites) at the very end. Went with the middle pass but you can go one higher which includes more but for the money, the middle one was perfect for us. Walked from Rainbow Bridge to our hotel and back on leaving, even with suitcase. Lots of chain restaurants but hard to find local cuisine. Did have pizza at Zippys one night.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten May 27, 2023
- professoressadarteStaunton, Virginia301 contributionsLots to see at NiagaraWe loved experiencing Niagara Falls. We did the boat ride and behind the falls, but there are other quality places to visit nearby, as well as a midway with games and go carts for those who want those activities, and a bus system to take you there. Our hotel room had a great view and it was interesting to watch the changes with different light at different times of day.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten June 10, 2023
- DougManchesterPoynton, United Kingdom177 contributionsJust WowI have seen this on YouTube and in photos but you have to see it in person as it’s truly awe inspiring and you get such a feeling of the power of the water. We went early on a Sunday as it gets quite busy after lunchtime. It’s definitely one ticked off my bucket list!Visited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten June 12, 2023
- Karen36 contributionsAmazingWe parked in the big lot at goat island. Horseshoe falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil falls can all be seen here. Goat Island is also where Cave of the Winds is located. The trolley for $3 each will take you to Maid of the Mist and more awesome views. The very best views are from the Canadian side. Also on the Canadian side is the cute little town of Niagara on the Lake. The earlier you can get there in the mornings the less crowded. Only an awesome God could have created something so amazing.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten June 19, 2023
- Chris2pher50Sharon, Pennsylvania18 contributionsFantastic stay!Upon arrival as always, greeted with a smile and the warm chocolate chip cookies! This is always the best place to stay! The staff is very helpful and attentive! I hotel is very clean and kept that way on a continuous basis. All the attractions are within walking distance and you can even try you luck in the Casino. Only one downfall I can think of at this property, you have to pay for parking of your vehicle during your stay.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten June 24, 2023
- Ann-MarieHarlow, United Kingdom10 contributionsAmazing experienceThe falls are stunning and definitely nice to view from both the American and Canadian sides (I personally think it’s prettier from the Canadian side)! Fireworks at night are great too! Lots to do in the area but all quite expensive! I would highly recommend heading to the falls! Go on a boat tour, do the journey beyond the falls tunnels and visit the American side! All give great but different views!Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten June 25, 2023
- PSimms712 contributionsBeautiful fallsMust see at least once in your life. Beautiful falls. Very touristy and commercialized. But still beautiful to visit. I would recommend the Canadian side. But it’s probably still pretty from the American side because they have a 1/2 bridge going out to see them. Canadian side looks at the falls straight on.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten June 28, 2023

It has the highest flow rate in the world. If I were you, I would visit it on a summer day to do boat tours and other activities to feel the falls.

I first saw this in a film when I was a child. It’s been my dream to be here. And finally we did got the chance. There’s so many words to describe other than this magnificent view. It’s up to you to explore it. Mine, it’s just a dream come true. I’m in awe and jaw dropped kind of feeling. To go down the tunnel view below is so exciting and a different experience.

I have loved Canada ever since my trip. I have noticed that people are very generous and cheerful and the landscapesare magnificent. I have been impressed by the animals because they are amazing but not shy. I have been to lot of countries and I think this is my favorite. Perfect for a couple.

The Niagara Falls ... we had heard so much about them, so to finally see and experience them was a pinch-me moment! The Niagara City Cruises (formerly Maid of the Mist) boat tour was incredible, taking us slowly past the base of the American Falls and into the basin of Horseshoe Falls, through the waterfall spray. Fortunately, the provided rain ponchos kept our clothes dry, as we had opted to stand in the wettest zone! The trip lasted about 20 mins. An excellent way to see the force of the water up close. I would definitely recommend the boat ride to fully experience the falls. A waterproof holder for your camera would be helpful!

The buildings and attractions in the area were pretty dated, but lively and lots to see and do. The falls were beautiful and worth the drive to see them.

We visited 26/05/2023.
This is exactly what you expect from a tourist attraction. We looked ahead and pre-bought the "Adventure Pass" which included entry into Journey Under the Falls, White Water Walk, Niagara's Fury and a 2-day WEGO bus pass. We collected the passes and got given some bonus discount tickets which was surprising. There was also some kind-of promotion going on and so we got additional entry into the Butterfly Conservatory and the Whirlpool Aero Car.
We loved the White Water Walk, the Whirlpool Aero Car, and the Butterfly Conservatory. We made use of the WEGO bus pass to get up and down to the different attractions which is really useful.
The Niagara's Fury was okay but a bit naff, not worth the individual price on it's own.
The only other thing I will say is the 'Journey Under the Falls' was okay but not what we thought, they put a lot of people down there all at once. It can be very crowded. You WILL get wet, put the poncho on over your bags.
When you get down, there are two main tunnels (left and right). If you go right - there are 3 smaller tunnels to see behind the falls. There was a huge queue for one of the 3 tunnels, which we didn't realise was a hole in the wall exactly like the the two we had seen. There is definitely nothing down there worth queuing for. If you take the left main tunnel, it takes you outside for the views beneath the falls and you will get wet! Make sure you wear the ponchos!

Niagara Falls is considered on of Natures Natural Wonders. There are many Higher Waterfalls, it is the Volume of Water that sets Niagara Falls apart.
In Addition to the Falls, Niagara has two Casinos. While not Las Vegas they are respectable but mostly convenient. There are plenty of Hotels and Restaurants.
We always stay at the Hilton Fallsview.

Went to celebrate my 60th birthday with my beautiful wife. It was cold but had a great time. Had a picture taken at approximately the same spot from 59 years earlier with my father holding me

Is there any restrictions on visiting from the USA now? What is the closest airport?
Marika Santiago
Astoria, NY125 contributions
You need your passport I do know that ,be prepared for a series of questions starting with: how many people are with you and what is the reason to the visit. Their restrictions are soely on :alcohol, weapons, drugs and humans not mentioned in first question with documentation. If you go to other provinces in Canada you may need to have a French language book or translator to assist you. Ottawa Mcdonald- Cartier airport is your best bet In my opinion due to familiar names in Canada to be honest because, my husband and I drove up to Canada and up to Toranto from New York.

How would I get to St. Catharines from Niagara Falls and then back on public transportation?
I am planning a trip to Niagara Falls for the summer. I would be coming from the US side, so would be able to walk across the Rainbow Bridge to get into Canada. I saw that the #40 and #50 buses go between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, but-
1. Can I pay with cash (I'm sure I can find somewhere to convert USD to CAD) or do I need a specific card?
2. How do I get from the bridge and from the Falls themselves to the Niagara Falls bus station without a car? On Google, it looked like it was a 15 minute drive away.
3. Similarly, where I want to go in St. Catharines is not right next to the bus station there; would my regular Uber or Lyft app that I use when I'm in the US still work when I'm in Canada?

There are several wineries in the area. Your group may enjoy wine tasting at one or several wineries.

That's not alot of time. Minimum two hours return by cab or Uber. If traffic is bad, your screwed.
Go to cn tower instead.
