A great morning. Go early because there so much to see. Suitable for all ages very well laid out. Book ahead of time and don't forget to book entry time slots as you need to book a time.

Oh my!!!! Loved everything about this place!! First…it is massive! So much to see but ya need to prioritize. Five hours flew by! To get there: there is a subway stop that empties right into the museum. Take that!! Don’t miss: Biodiversity wing Planetarium add on Big Bang show We are at Nina’s burritos after!! Skip the cafeteria!!

The whole museum complex is gigantic, in terms of pure size and amount of exhibitions they have inside. Dinosaurs, planetariums and minerals and much more. To see everything you need to be prepared for 3-4h walk. Unfortunately, there are some cons. Most of the exhibitions are just dioramas with fake animals and plants in them, also the line to get in is sooooooo long. I recommend being next to the entrance like 1h BEFORE opening, otherwise, you will be forced to wait 2-3h minimum to get in.

If you plan on doing nothing else all day then go because it takes forever to get around this huge place. I'm sure you can skip a lot of it if you can get away with it. The staffing was very bad, not enough to deal with the hordes of people queing despite booking a 1pm slot we still didn't get in till 2pm and waiting with young children is not acceptable. They need to sort this out desperately.

We spent over 6 hours in the museum and still only saw probably less than 20% of the exhibits. I think you'd need a week in there to see everything! So much to see and loads of information on the items and their history. Benches in many areas which was great to have a sit down. Food and drink was crazy expensive but good. Air con throughout the building. Shops on every floor for a massive selection of souvenirs. We really enjoyed our visit.

When we got there, there was a huge line around the block all the way to the subway entrance. You can buy tickets online, and just go around to the back entrance, where (for us) there was no line at all. Great exhibits!!! Museum guard told us to start from the top floor and work are way down ... great advice!! Large gift shop, with smaller ones spread out through the museum. Would definitely recommend,

The AMNH is one of the awesome museums in NYC. The great thing about it is that it is actually linked underground to the metro station so you won't miss it at all. I have been dying to come here as i am a Night at the Museum fan. However, it kind of disappoint as I did not really see the exhibits that I saw in the movie. Nonetheless, what really amazes me are the mannequins at the museum. They look so real. Every exhibit comes with a whole lot of detail about the people and animals of the world. The problem i have with this place is it is incredibly difficult to navigate around. Between MET and AMNH, I feel like MET is better run and with better food options. The food option at AMNH is pretty dismal and expensive. I spent 5 hours here, you really got to dedicate an entire day otherwise it's just really touch n go.

The Natural History Museum is by far one of my favourite museums! I was a bit confused about whether the tickets were free or not? We did end up paying about $28 but we saw signs at the front saying that it was free but something about donations. I have just googled it and it’s keeps saying it’s free so I am still confused. Regardless of the cost this museum is brilliant! If you go make sure you have quite a few hours or even a full day to get round everything! It really is stunning! I was a bit stumped that we had paid to go in and there were further charges if you wanted to go in certain exhibits.

Excellent selection of things to look at, we’ll worth the money. Didn’t take too long to gain access since we bought tickets on the phone (with a time slot) during our walk in. Don’t eat at the cafe if you can help it, the food is a rip off and the staff there aren’t very helpful. They did have a vegetarian sandwich but it was too expensive for what it was.

The main entrance was a block over from what I was thinking. It is $39 for each adult for every possible part of the museum experience. It may be worth it if you have several hours to spend here. Otherwise it's $28 per adult for the basic entry. The Big Bang theory was interesting. The African animals was also nice to look at the displays. The American animals was cool to see some of the animals up close. Haven't ever seen a mountain goat or any bears, not that I need to see any bears up close at all. The layout of this museum is all over the place, it is was hard to get a good flow and see as much as possible. The national history museum is bigger and the exhibits are better if you map out your visit. We likely missed some areas as we walked along our own path with no plan.
