These films enticed me with their disturbing content and kept me watching, but I doubt I can bring myself to view them multiple times. Please don't show these films to your children! These films are for the non squeamish adults only. Minor spoilers are covered for your protection, but I dare you to look anyways.

R | 102 min | Drama

71 Metascore

The drug-induced utopias of four Coney Island people are shattered when their addictions run deep..

Director: Darren Aronofsky | Stars: Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, Marlon Wayans

Votes: 896,557 | Gross: $3.64M

This classic tale of drugs has shocked many, including my poor mother. Brings up the question of whether you can trust your doctor more than your drug dealer. We got a few different stories being told about how these different people start experiencing drugs and their lives spiral into their own hells. From prescription drugs to street drugs, these people can't stop, and their nightmares may be able to keep you from ever consuming any drug without hesitation.

2. Antichrist (2009)

Not Rated | 108 min | Drama, Horror, Thriller

49 Metascore

A grieving couple retreat to their cabin in the woods, hoping to repair their broken hearts and troubled marriage, but nature takes its course and things go from bad to worse.

Director: Lars von Trier | Stars: Willem Dafoe, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Storm Acheche Sahlstrøm

Votes: 136,256 | Gross: $0.40M

This is a film that explores how Christianity can effect an unstable woman and her husband. With a controversial target, this film really brings out the disturbing graphic content such as severe self mutilation. And with a beginning scene that shows something many do not wish to see explored in horror films: the death of a infant. Dare to enjoy this sinful journey?

3. Martyrs (2008)

R | 99 min | Horror

A young woman's quest for revenge against the people who kidnapped and tormented her as a child leads her and a friend, who is also a victim of child abuse, on a terrifying journey into a living hell of depravity.

Director: Pascal Laugier | Stars: Morjana Alaoui, Mylène Jampanoï, Catherine Bégin, Robert Toupin

Votes: 106,035

A story of a girl who knows one side of the story, and has to make some choices as to whether to help her best friend kill for revenge. But that's not all... and I can't ruin the second half of the film for you, but let's just say that if you can't stand viewing a woman being beaten and worse, don't watch this. This film continues to bring twists up until the final moment, so if you are going to watch this, don't stop until the credits roll.

4. Hostel (2005)

R | 94 min | Horror

55 Metascore

Three backpackers head to a Slovak city that promises to meet their hedonistic expectations, with no idea of the hell that awaits them.

Director: Eli Roth | Stars: Jay Hernandez, Derek Richardson, Eythor Gudjonsson, Barbara Nedeljakova

Votes: 190,627 | Gross: $47.33M

With torture scenes that seem to go on forever, you wonder what even justifies watching such filth. Well, the pay off in the end, you sicko! Honorable mention would be the second one, but I think the second one's torture scenes don't come close to what you are subjected to in this film. Oh, and both films are full of gratuitous sex and misogyny, to add to your discomfort.

5. The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009)

R | 92 min | Horror

33 Metascore

A mad scientist kidnaps and mutilates a trio of tourists in order to reassemble them into a human centipede, created by stitching their mouths to each others' rectums.

Director: Tom Six | Stars: Dieter Laser, Winter Williams, Ashlynn Yennie, Akihiro Kitamura

Votes: 87,015 | Gross: $0.18M

Tosh.0 might have ruined this film for some but not for me. This film will make you uncomfortable going number 2 for days after. In this tale, that some say is the product of a sick mind, we meet two typical American female tourists as they get a flat tire in Germany and start to wander off into the woods looking for help. This dumb idea leads them to a mad scientist's house where he easily chooses them to be the second and third part of his experiment, a human centipede. By attaching his first victim to his second victim by, tastefully attaching one a-hole to the next person's mouth, he hopes that his new pet will thrive with multiple digestion. This film is said my some to be gross-out horror and by others to be a horror comedy. I would say it's both. With scenes that will make you laugh uncomfortably, and one scene where there is an apology that can never be accepted, it's hard to know what to think. But if you do watch this, be sure to watch the jokes made about it in the viral video world. (example: Human Centipede Survivor Support Group) Now when they make the sequel, I will let you know how disgusting that is too.

6. Hobo with a Shotgun (2011)

Not Rated | 86 min | Action, Comedy, Crime

55 Metascore

A homeless vigilante blows away crooked cops, pedophile Santas, and other scumbags with his trusty pump-action shotgun.

Director: Jason Eisener | Stars: Rutger Hauer, Pasha Ebrahimi, Robb Wells, Brian Downey

Votes: 48,578 | Gross: $0.70M

Tons of mindless violence and gore, and children's deaths are depicted. It's very tough to sit through, but oddly fun. Like I'm on a Free Fall ride I got convinced into riding.

7. House of 1000 Corpses (2003)

R | 89 min | Horror

31 Metascore

Two young couples traveling across the backwoods of Texas searching for urban legends of murder end up as prisoners of a bizarre and sadistic backwater family of serial killers.

Director: Rob Zombie | Stars: Sid Haig, Karen Black, Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon Zombie

Votes: 93,123 | Gross: $12.63M

A film full of unlikable characters and first time poor directing by Rob Zombie, you are given the opportunity to watch a film that has no substance and painfully long chase scenes. Our 4 main characters are ugly and stupid, and you are going to follow them as they somehow get themselves into a house full of psycho killers. These killers enjoy playing with people's faces, after they remove them, and enjoy dressing their girl victims like Bunnies. What's going on in this film? I don't know, it was really bad. Kind of a rip off of Texas Chainsaw Massacre if you ask me. But to be fair, you shouldn't watch the sequel without watching this and the sequel is way better! so enjoy hating your lead characters and what happens to them, it's going to be a sick and twisted ride into some sort of fantasy world of Rob Zombie's.

8. Braindead (1992)

R | 104 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

54 Metascore

A young man's mother is bitten by a Sumatran rat-monkey. She gets sick and dies, at which time she comes back to life, killing and eating dogs, nurses, friends, and neighbors.

Director: Peter Jackson | Stars: Timothy Balme, Diana Peñalver, Elizabeth Moody, Ian Watkin

Votes: 103,068 | Gross: $0.24M

this is a gross out zombie film by the same douche that brought you all those Lord Of The Rings films. You know, the one's that are supposed to be the best movies ever according to most IMDb users apparently. Ugh, moving on... this film is about a man who is faced with the undead and at first decides to treat them like everything is normal, but then has to get real. A movie full of blood, there is also a few scenes that made me gag-- one involving sex and the other involving something falling in a bowl of soup. ew. There is a famous scene in here with our hero using a lawn mower to face the undead, with a memorable outcome. That, you will enjoy!

9. Inside (2007)

R | 82 min | Horror

Four months after the death of her husband, a woman on the brink of motherhood is tormented in her home by a strange woman who wants her unborn baby.

Directors: Alexandre Bustillo, Julien Maury | Stars: Alysson Paradis, Jean-Baptiste Tabourin, Claude Lulé, Dominique Frot

Votes: 44,571

This gem is about a woman who is going to soon have a baby, but another woman is thinking that she wants her baby and will not stop until she cuts that baby right out of her. OoOoOo, and it has a great twist ending. This film should not be showed to pregnant women as it is full of violence, mostly to this poor woman in her own home. Will the crazed psycho succeed or will our hero escape and keep her baby? Will the cops come and save her from this? Can anybody stop someone this fixed on getting what they want? And is everything really that simple? Oh, you will have to watch!

10. The Collector (I) (2009)

R | 90 min | Horror, Thriller

29 Metascore

Desperate to repay his debt to his ex-wife, an ex-con plots a heist at his new employer's country home, unaware that a second criminal has also targeted the property, and rigged it with a series of deadly traps.

Director: Marcus Dunstan | Stars: Josh Stewart, Andrea Roth, Juan Fernández, William Prael

Votes: 72,005 | Gross: $7.71M

This film is about a desperate man who is going to rob a house that he was helping to renovate, but the surprise is that some freak already is there with the house filled with traps, somehow, and he plans on adding someone to his collection by the end of the night. This movie doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but if you like the torture genre, then go ahead and watch this. What doesn't make sense to me is how one man can booby trap someone else's home in a few hours. Yes, he may have been prepping for maybe two weeks, but I think I would know if my wall had a bed of spikes on it after a week, right? Moving on... So this guy can either get the money out of the safe and get out of there or save the family. What concludes is a disappointing ending where you don't get the same type of joy Hostel left you with. If you are either going to watch Hostel or The Collector, watch Hostel as at least that movie is conceivable with an ending that will make you squeal with delight.

11. Funny Games (2007)

R | 111 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

44 Metascore

Two psychopathic young men take a family hostage in their cabin.

Director: Michael Haneke | Stars: Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, Brady Corbet

Votes: 103,642 | Gross: $1.29M

Funny Games, the remake, watch this or the original, as they are directed by the same dude, just ten years later to appeal to Americans. So go ahead watch the remake, don't feel guilty because the director wants you to watch it. It's the same basic film, with nearly no changes. Here we see two young men as they mess with a family. Full of torture and idiotic character choices, you may expect the same type of films as The Strangers which is very similar except that's based on a true story, and this is based on what you don't want to watch but can't help it. The bad guy actually has some Zach Morris moments, and talks to you the viewer and tells you what you want and how he wont give it to you. I for one have never witnessed something that so blatantly wanted to tick me off. This film with leave you with some strong emotions, mostly negative ones. And it's not funny.

12. The Last House on the Left (1972)

R | 84 min | Crime, Horror, Thriller

68 Metascore

Two teenage girls heading to a rock concert for one's birthday try to score marijuana in the city, where they are kidnapped and brutalized by a gang of psychopathic convicts.

Director: Wes Craven | Stars: Sandra Peabody, Lucy Grantham, David Hess, Fred J. Lincoln

Votes: 40,201 | Gross: $3.10M

A movie with a rape and torture scene that will make you the viewer feel dirty. Two girls get captured by three criminals, and brutally played with. Meanwhile one of the girl's parents live not very far away, and when the criminals need a place to stay the night after their fun is done, the parents soon realize that the people that kindly let stay in their home are actually the killers of their daughter. So of course, they don't call the cops, they seek out some revenge. Things get pretty brutal.

13. Beloved (1998)

R | 172 min | Drama, History, Horror

58 Metascore

A slave is visited by the spirit of a mysterious young woman.

Director: Jonathan Demme | Stars: Oprah Winfrey, Danny Glover, Yada Beener, Emil Pinnock

Votes: 9,564 | Gross: $22.85M

Oprah and Danny Glover... sex scene. Okay that's disturbing enough, but there is also a dog brutally beaten by a ghost, and a twist ending that describes a hard choice Oprah's character had to make in the past that caused this whole series of disturbing events. I mean, it's a graphic sex scene between Oprah and Glover, ew!

14. Blindness (2008)

R | 121 min | Drama, Mystery, Thriller

45 Metascore

A city is ravaged by an epidemic of instant white blindness.

Director: Fernando Meirelles | Stars: Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Gael García Bernal, Yûsuke Iseya

Votes: 75,115 | Gross: $3.07M

what would happen if there was a pandemic that caused people to go blind? This movie explores that. A woman faced with the fact that her husband like many is struck with blindness and the newly blind are being separated by their loved ones to stop the spread, must choose to either do the easy thing and abandon her husband or face the unknown by pretending to be blind as well to stay with him. She chooses of course to stay with him and she witnesses what men will do when separated from society and given rationed food and supplies. Soon many men are asking that in order for them to share the food, they must be able to use all the woman as sex slaves. But our hero doesn't like this, and what is she going to do?

15. Eden Lake (2008)

R | 91 min | Horror, Thriller

65 Metascore

Refusing to let anything spoil their romantic weekend break, a young couple confront a gang of loutish youths with terrifyingly brutal consequences.

Director: James Watkins | Stars: Kelly Reilly, Michael Fassbender, Tara Ellis, Jack O'Connell

Votes: 94,542 | Gross: $0.01M

A couple is determined to enjoy a weekend at a lake, where they aren't even supposed to be in the first place as it is closed for construction. They are met with some rowdy kids who determine to ruin their vacation, but when things go too far, the kids will not let them leave. Now this couple must escape somehow, but when you are in the backwards hick area you are, it's going to be quite difficult. This film once again has many torture scenes and a fairly disturbing ending.

16. Teeth (I) (2007)

R | 94 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

57 Metascore

Still a stranger to her own body, a high school student discovers she has a physical advantage when she becomes the object of male violence.

Director: Mitchell Lichtenstein | Stars: Jess Weixler, John Hensley, Josh Pais, Hale Appleman

Votes: 46,385 | Gross: $0.35M

Many have questioned, idiotically, if this film is trying to say that all men are scum. No no no, just the men this girl knows. This girl has a secret weapon, her vagina is full of razor sharp teeth ready to attack any who dares to enter. And they show the remains of what it dismembers.... member... get it? hah! Okay, so this film is very gory and full of men screaming in pain. It sure makes you feel better after watching some misogynistic films like Hostel. Ladies, enjoy this. There are very few films this grotesque aimed at being appealing to you.

17. The Girl Next Door (2007)

R | 91 min | Crime, Drama, Horror

29 Metascore

Follows the unspeakable torture and abuses committed on a teenage girl in the care of her aunt and the boys who witness and fail to report the crime.

Director: Gregory Wilson | Stars: William Atherton, Blythe Auffarth, Blanche Baker, Kevin Chamberlin

Votes: 29,311

No this isn't what you think. This is not about a porn star moving next door to some horny teen, you got the wrong movie. This is a supposed true story about a boy who likes to hang out at his neighbors house where this horrible mother let's her kids and the neighbor kids get drunk and other inappropriate things. Well, she gets some new foster kids, two girls. One girl is the younger sister with severe injuries from the auto accident that killed their parents, and the other is a pretty girl who catches the eye of our main character. It turns out that besides this horrible woman being a bad mother, she also seems to hate women, and soon start encouraging torturing and beating these two girls with the other children's help. As the cover shows, she even ends up chaining the older one in the basement. All this happens, as our main character protests sheepishly, but witnesses every horrible thing that happens in this house. Will he stop these horrific acts? Will it be too late?

18. Boys Don't Cry (1999)

R | 118 min | Biography, Crime, Drama

86 Metascore

A young man named Brandon Teena navigates love, life, and being transgender in rural Nebraska.

Director: Kimberly Peirce | Stars: Hilary Swank, Chloë Sevigny, Peter Sarsgaard, Brendan Sexton III

Votes: 103,155 | Gross: $11.53M

An award winner based on a true story about a girl who always wanted to be a man who gets a new girlfriend who doesn't know she is a woman. Over all this film isn't too disturbing until people find out that this guy isn't a guy and is labeled a F@g. And we all know what happens to F@gs in hicksville. If you like this film, I recommend you see a production of The Laramie Project about the death of Matthew Shepard and how it rocked a small town. (also based on a true story, but even more true as it is spliced together from real interviews from the town folk and those that ventured there to hear their stories.)

19. Audition (1999)

R | 115 min | Drama, Horror, Mystery

70 Metascore

A widower takes an offer to screen girls at a special audition, arranged for him by a friend to find him a new wife. The one he fancies is not who she appears to be after all.

Director: Takashi Miike | Stars: Ryo Ishibashi, Eihi Shiina, Tetsu Sawaki, Jun Kunimura

Votes: 88,975

this story starts out very slow, all about a man who has lost his wife and is now a single father. He desperately wants a wife after several years of loneliness, and his friend comes up with a Joe Millionaire type idea; place a fake audition for a fake film, and get all these pretty woman to show up and maybe one will be the right girl for our lead man to marry. Well one girl does capture his eye, and he is smitten with her, and she very much wants him to call her up. But she has a secret, a dark past that our hero has to learn about before this woman gets too close for comfort. With an ending that will leave you utterly speechless and not at all hungry, you will question what was reality in all of this, and whether you ever want to send your little girl to solo ballerina lessons with a creepy old man.

20. Jesus Camp (2006)

PG-13 | 87 min | Documentary

62 Metascore

A documentary on kids who attend a summer camp hoping to become the next Billy Graham.

Directors: Heidi Ewing, Rachel Grady | Stars: Mike Papantonio, Lou Engle, Becky Fischer, Ted Haggard

Votes: 28,753 | Gross: $0.90M

Here is a documentary about evangelical children who are being taught to "take back America for Christ." Much controversy has surrounded this film, but the creators say it was shot with open mindedness, yet the images speak for themselves. This film, if you aren't on the Christian Nation bandwagon, will anger, sadden, and disturb you.

21. Deadgirl (2008)

R | 101 min | Horror

36 Metascore

Two high school boys discover an imprisoned woman in an abandoned mental asylum who cannot die.

Directors: Marcel Sarmiento, Gadi Harel | Stars: Shiloh Fernandez, Noah Segan, Candice King, Eric Podnar

Votes: 19,804

A very unusual zombie/misogyny film. Two teen boys come across a dead girl who remains semi functional. One guy has the genius idea of making this zombie his sex slave, the other thinks his friend is pretty friggin sick. This is viewed by it's fans as a horror comedy, but many will not find this subject matter very funny. There is a couple moments where I did laugh out loud, and then recoiled in disgust. I recommend this film to all zombie fans though, as it is something not explored much within the zombie genre, outside maybe the zombie comedy Fido. Fido is also a great movie and if you want to show it to your pre teen, they probably wont be as mentally disturbed afterward as Deadgirl would.

22. Barking Dogs Never Bite (2000)

Not Rated | 110 min | Comedy

66 Metascore

An idle part-time college lecturer is annoyed by the yapping sound of a nearby dog. He decides to take drastic action.

Director: Bong Joon Ho | Stars: Bae Doona, Lee Sung-jae, Kim Ho-jung, Byun Hee-Bong

Votes: 10,277

I almost hesitate to put this on this list because most of the film is actually pretty funny. But because there is one scene that shows a dog being hung, I would have to say it is disturbing. They do say no dogs were harmed in the making of this film, but the subject of the film is about a guy who decides to kill some annoying little dogs.

23. Oldboy (2003)

R | 120 min | Action, Drama, Mystery

78 Metascore

After being kidnapped and imprisoned for fifteen years, Oh Dae-Su is released, only to find that he must track down his captor in five days.

Director: Park Chan-wook | Stars: Choi Min-sik, Yoo Ji-tae, Kang Hye-jeong, Kim Byeong-Ok

Votes: 633,527 | Gross: $0.71M

This film is probably one of the most well made films on my list. I even heard they may make an American remake.

It's a story of revenge. I guess it shows that if you have patience, you can really ruin someone's life. Now, i can't tell you the most disturbing moments in the film as one is a twist in the end and the other is what the man does after he finds out he got totally effed with. Sexually disturbing and graphically disturbing.

24. Fall from Grace (2007)

Not Rated | 71 min | Documentary

The shocking story of Rev. Fred Phelps, the Westboro Baptist Church, those who oppose it, and those who chose to leave it all behind.

Director: K. Ryan Jones | Stars: Bill Bunten, Warren Carter, Kelly Franz, Jeff Gannon

Votes: 594

This is a straight documentary about the Westboro Baptist Church and what they do. If you never heard of Fred Phelps before, his family preaches that Gay people are hated by God for years. But more recently people hate him for saying that Dead American Soldiers are in Hell. What's amazing about this film, is that they really interviewed the family and church members including the children and Fred himself. I don't know how they were able to get these people to be so honest about their collective hatred, but it's raw and it's here for you to see. Straight from the Horse's mouth, if the Horse was this old a-hole who can't keep his nasty opinions to himself.

25. I Spit on Your Grave (2010)

R | 108 min | Horror, Thriller

27 Metascore

A writer who is brutalized during her cabin retreat seeks revenge on her attackers, who left her for dead.

Director: Steven R. Monroe | Stars: Sarah Butler, Jeff Branson, Andrew Howard, Daniel Franzese

Votes: 92,895 | Gross: $0.09M

One of those movies that promises you a great revenge sequence to get you to sit through the horrible torture, but it all didn't feel worth it.

26. The Woman (I) (2011)

R | 101 min | Drama, Horror, Thriller

58 Metascore

When a successful country lawyer captures and attempts to "civilize" the last remaining member of a violent clan that has roamed the Northeast coast for decades, he puts the lives of his family in jeopardy.

Director: Lucky McKee | Stars: Pollyanna McIntosh, Brandon Gerald Fuller, Lauren Ashley Carter, Chris Krzykowski

Votes: 25,792

By the same guy that wrote The Girl Next Door. Has a very similar feel and shares some moments. Though this one seems to have a better pay off for the audience and I think makes you think more about the horrors of misogyny, and less about just abuse in general.

27. Evil Dead (2013)

R | 91 min | Horror

57 Metascore

Five friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods.

Director: Fede Alvarez | Stars: Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci

Votes: 196,831 | Gross: $54.24M
