Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige's attempt to emulate the tactic used by 1986's Ferris Bueller's Day Off - keeping audiences in theaters until the last second so they can appreciate all the creatives that made the project - has become an MCU staple, and continues to delight viewers to this day.

While some of the end-credits scenes in the MCU timeline set up major new storylines for the franchise's future, others are merely fun little moments that provide relief after an epic story, or contain Easter eggs to the Marvel Comics source material for avid fans to enjoy. After over a decade-and-a-half, more than 30 films, and several long-form MCU TV series' on Disney+, there are a huge number of end-credits scenes for audiences to remember, which can understandably be quite tough, even for Marvel Studios' die-hard fans. Nick Fury Makes His Grand Entrance

Iron Man marked the start of Marvel Studios' franchise by introducing Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, and the film's single post-credits scene began to establish the shared universe potential of the budding MCU. To those who hadn't read the Marvel Comics source material, seeing Nick Fury, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, arrive in Stark's living room to discuss the Avenger Initiative would have seemed unexciting. However, the simplicity of this moment, and its effectiveness at teasing the crossover potential of the new cinematic franchise, means Iron Man's post-credits scene is still widely regarded as one of the best in the MCU.

Tony Stark Wants To Put A Team Together

The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk released only a month after Iron Man, and once again featured Tony Stark in its post-credits scene. Tracking down General Thaddeus Ross, played by the late William Hurt, in a bar, Stark propositions, "what if I told you we were putting a team together?" This scene leads on from Iron Man's post-credits scene, suggesting Stark had fallen into business with Nick Fury and SHIELD, and realized that Bruce Banner (then played by Edward Norton), a.k.a. the Hulk, would be a perfect fit for the Avengers. This scene implies that Stark was supposed to lead the Avengers before Joss Whedon came on board for 2012's crossover film.

Agent Coulson Finds Mjolnir

Clark Gregg reprised his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Iron Man for the 2010 sequel, tasked with keeping a watchful eye over Tony Stark. During the film, Coulson is transferred to New Mexico for an unknown purpose, but Iron Man 2's post-credits scene reveals that Coulson had been relocated to take point on the discovery of a mysterious object buried in the desert: Thor's hammer Mjolnir. For fans of Marvel Comics, Mjolnir was instantly recognizable, and directly teased the MCU's next film, as Thor would release a year later. Subtle, but effective, this scene marked the first time a future film had been teased, rather than a future MCU team.

Erik Selvig Joins SHIELD

Although another project was set to release between 2011's Thor and 2012's The Avengers, Thor's post-credits scene directly set up the events of the MCU's first team-up movie. Nick Fury returned alongside Stellan Skarsgård's Erik Selvig and Tom Hiddleston's Loki, who had both been introduced during Thor, and this scene also marked the first appearance of the Tesseract. Though Loki was assumed to be dead by the end of Thor, this post-credits scene revealed that the God of Mischief had actually survived, and seemed to already have some sort of control over Selvig, as the scientist repeats Loki's line word-for-word, "I guess that's worth a look."

After Captain America: The First Avenger's main action ended with Chris Evans' Steve Rogers waking up in the MCU's present day, the film's post-credits scene features the WWII hero acclimatizing to his new life, and expressing his frustrations at the gym. There, he's approached by Nick Fury, who states they need Rogers' help to save the world. While this actual post-credits scene was short - a trimmed down version of a full scene from The Avengers - the moment leads directly into the first official trailer for The Avengers, getting audiences riled up for the MCU's first crossover event which would release in the following year.

Thanos Makes His Debut

2012's The Avengers was the first Marvel Studios project to include two end-credits scenes, with the first coming after the animated credits sequence, rather than the ending of the full credits. During this ground-breaking mid-credits scene, the Other informs his enigmatic master that Loki's invasion of Earth had been unsuccessful, and warns that to challenge Earth's Mightiest Heroes would be to "court death." In response, his master turns to the camera, and reveals himself to be the Mad Titan Thanos, an iconic supervillain from Marvel Comics. Here, Thanos was portrayed by Damion Poitier, while Josh Brolin would assume the role from Guardians of the Galaxy onwards.

It would have been difficult to top Thanos' introduction in The Avengers mid-credits scene, so the film's post-credits scene, which came after the full credits sequence, didn't try to. Instead, the post-credits scene caught up with the MCU's new Avengers team in the wake of the Battle of New York, quietly sitting down to enjoy shawarma together, as had been suggested by Tony Stark in the moments after his victorious return through Loki's portal. This was Marvel Studios' first scene used simply for comedic relief, and also allowed the audience a moment to breathe after the epic action of The Avengers.

Bruce Banner Isn't That Kind Of Doctor

Iron Man 3 appeared to end Tony Stark's career as a superhero - though this would be changed in Avengers: Age of Ultron - so the film's post-credits scene didn't tease Robert Downey Jr.'s MCU future. Instead, this scene marked the return of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, who is revealed to have been listening to Stark's account of his battle against Guy Pearce's Aldrich Killian. The voiceover throughout Iron Man 3 is revealed to be Stark's speech to Banner, though the latter responds by stating that he isn't "that kind of doctor." Thor: The Dark World's mid-credits scene took the first steps to establishing the Infinity Stones as a threat in the MCU. After dealing with the Aether, a.k.a. the Reality Stone, in the Thor sequel, the Asgardians decide it would be best to keep it away from Asgard since the Tesseract, a.k.a. the Space Stone, is already stored there. In the scene, the Reality Stone is delivered to the mysterious Collector, played by Benicio del Toro, with the scene acting as setup for Guardians of the Galaxy, which del Toro would appear in next. While Thor: The Dark World's mid-credits scene helped to tease a future storyline for the MCU, the film's post-credits scene is widely regarded as one of the most pointless moments in the MCU's history. Simply showing Chris Hemsworth's Thor returning to Earth to kiss Jane Foster, portrayed by Natalie Portman, the scene had very little purpose other than establishing the fact that Thor and Jane were officially in a committed relationship - though she wouldn't be seen again until Thor: Ragnarok. After the collapse of SHIELD, and therefore HYDRA, The Winter Soldier's post-credits scene features Baron Von Strucker, a high-ranking HYDRA official played by Thomas Kretschmann, who reveals he has possession of Loki's scepter and has been running experiments on human volunteers. This marked the debut for Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the MCU's Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, setting up some major storylines for the MCU's future.

The post-credits scene for Captain America: The Winter Soldier features Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. the Winter Soldier, now free from HYDRA's captivity, learning about his life at the Smithsonian. An entire wing is dedicated to Captain America and his WWII adventures at the museum, so there is perhaps no better place for Bucky to try and remember his life and friendship. This moment would eventually become even more important during the events of Captain America: Civil War, so The Winter Soldier was already actively teasing a greater role for Bucky in the MCU's future - eventually becoming the de facto leader of the Thunderbolts.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy was a ground-breaking moment for the MCU, as James Gunn introduced an entirely cosmic team of lesser-known heroes to the franchise, though the team quickly became some of the MCU's most beloved characters. In keeping with the musical nature of Guardians of the Galaxy, the film's mid-credits scene features the new Groot sapling dancing to the tune of the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back," while trying to avoid being seen by Dave Bautista's Drax the Destroyer in the background. This scene helped to reassure fans that Groot would be back after the original Groot sacrificed himself to save his new family.

Howard The Duck Drinks With The Collector

Though this post-credits scene didn't have much of an impact on the MCU as a whole, Guardians of the Galaxy did reintroduce Howard the Duck to audiences, long after the reviled 1986 film, Howard the Duck. Not only did Guardians of the Galaxy's post-credits scene introduce the anthropomorphic duck who would become a running joke in the subsequent Guardians films, but Cosmo the Spacedog was also introduced here. Much like The Avengers' post-credits scene, Avengers: Age of Ultron brought back Thanos following his brief appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy. This time, however, he seems to have more purpose, as Josh Brolin's Thanos dons the infamous Infinity Gauntlet and states, "fine, I'll do it myself." Evangeline Lilly debuted as Hope van Dyne in 2015's Ant-Man, and throughout the film, she was teased to eventually become the size-changing hero known as the Wasp. This transition was hinted at directly in Ant-Man's mid-credits scene, which saw Hope's father, Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, reveal a prototype Wasp suit to his daughter. Hope responded by saying, "it's about damn time," referring to the fact that she had always felt excluded by her father when he was only trying to protect her. The Wasp was an integral member of the Avengers in Marvel Comics, but this scene only teased Hope's debut as the Wasp in 2018's Ant-Man sequel.

Ant-Man's post-credits scene was actually a scene taken directly from Captain America: Civil War, the next film to release in Marvel Studios' timeline. During the scene, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson, Anthony Mackie's now long-running role, discuss what to do with a captured Bucky Barnes. This scene provides the MCU's first mention of the Sokovia Accords, and implies that Tony Stark wouldn't help the pair, so they instead turn to "a guy" that Sam knows. This refers to Scott Lang, Paul Rudd's Ant-Man, who Sam had skirmished with during the events of Ant-Man. Directly teasing Captain America: Civil War here meant that anticipation was high for the next MCU film.

Bucky Seeks Refuge In Wakanda

As well as featuring most of the active superheroes in the MCU, Captain America: Civil War also introduced the Protector of Wakanda, the Black Panther. Chadwick Boseman's debut as T'Challa was incredibly exciting, and this was developed even further in Civil War's post-credits scene, which saw Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes asking the Black Panther to help break the latter free of HYDRA's conditioning. It's then revealed that the group are actually in Wakanda itself, overlooked by a huge panther statue, teasing the first solo outing in the MCU's for Boseman's T'Challa in 2018's Black Panther.

Not only did Captain America: Civil War introduce audiences to the Black Panther, but the film also brought Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, into the MCU. Tom Holland's first solo adventure as the MCU's web-slinger was teased in Civil War's post-credits scene, which featured the young hero back in his bedroom in Queens, exploring a new gadget provided by his mentor, Tony Stark. While this scene also sneaks in a joke about Peter being punched by a guy named Steve from Brooklyn, it also helped to set the stage for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which would star both Holland and Robert Downey Jr. and expand on the MCU's newest superhero.

Doctor Strange Offers To Help Thor

Marvel Studios often uses cut-down scenes from future projects as their end-credits stingers, and Doctor Strange's mid-credits scene was another perfect example of this. Taken from Thor: Ragnarok, this scene features the Asgardian God of Thunder coming face-to-face with the new Master of the Mystic Arts, Doctor Stephen Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, seeking the sorcerer's help in finding his father, Odin. Strange asks Thor to promptly return to Asgard after tracking down his AWOL father, to which Thor agrees, establishing a fast connection between Thor and Doctor Strange which may become important in the MCU's future.

Mordo Begins His Quest Against Sorcerers

Despite Doctor Strange's post-credits scene teasing a villainous future for Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo in the MCU, this version of the character hasn't actually been seen since the 2016 film. The scene features Strange's friend-turned-enemy stealing Jonathan Pangborn's magic, rendering the man paralyzed while claiming that he knows what's wrong with the world: "too many sorcerers." While this version of Mordo hasn't yet been seen again, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness did introduce a variant of the character, who also happened to hold a grudge against Doctor Strange, jealous of the latter's quick talent.

Kraglin Trains With The Yaka Arrow

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set the record for most end-credits scenes in a Marvel Studios project, racking up a total of five, the first of which featured Sean Gunn's Kraglin Obfonteri on board the Guardians' ship. After inheriting Yondu Udonta's fin and Yaka arrow - which responds to its user's whistle - Kraglin tries to perfect the new skill. However, still unsure how to control the arrow, Kraglin accidentally shoots it around a corner where it strikes Drax in the shoulder. This was a brilliant moment of relief after a dramatic ending to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which saw Michael Rooker's Yondu meet his emotional end.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's second post-credits scene introduced MCU audiences to Stakar Ogord's old crew. Sylvester Stallone debuted as Ogord during the film, depicted as a Ravager leader, but in Marvel Comics, Ogord is the hero known as Starhawk, and the founder of the original Guardians of the Galaxy. Baby Groot played a pivotal role in the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but by the time the credits roll, some time has passed and Groot is now a teenager. During Vol. 2's fourth post-credits scene, Chris Pratt's Peter Quill asks Groot to clean his room, which is covered with vine sheddings, though Groot responds by stating that Peter was boring him. This scene was used in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to show that a number of years had passed between Vol. 2 and the Guardians' next appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, and also established Groot as a more functional member of the team.

After Adrian Toomes was incarcerated at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Michael Keaton's Vulture meets with his former associate Mac Gargan, played by Michael Mando, in prison. Spider-Man: Homecoming's mid-credits scene shows that Toomes, even after battling with the MCU's Spider-Man, chooses to keep the young hero's true identity a secret, declaring to Gargan, "if I knew who [Spider-Man] was, he'd already be dead." This scene proves that Toomes respects his wall-crawling foe enough to protect his identity, and Toomes can later be seen in prison during Morbius' post-credits scene in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, where he's confusingly transported into Sony's reality.

Several PSAs featuring Steve Rogers' Captain America are shown throughout Spider-Man: Homecoming, despite the Avenger being a fugitive after Captain America: Civil War. Chris Evans appeared one last time in the film's post-credits scene, lecturing Marvel Studios' audiences on the gift of patience, one of the most valuable traits a soldier or student can possess. By stating how one would wonder why they "waited so long for something so disappointing," Captain America is speaking directly to MCU audiences, stressing that they waited through the credits for nothing, which was a hilarious joke about the expectation for meaningful post-credits scenes.

Taika Waititi revitalized the Thor franchise with the release of Thor: Ragnarok, putting a more comedic spin on the God of Thunder, though this took a turn for the worse in the film's mid-credits scene. While Thor and Loki discuss the pros and cons of traveling to Earth with the Asgardian refugees, they are met in space by Thanos' massive ship, the Sanctuary II, signaling their impending doom at the hands of the Mad Titan. The film's mid-credits scene sees him stand before the United Nations, ready to declare Wakanda's true nature to the world, and open the nation's borders to supply aid, relief, and technology. This set up Wakanda as a pivotal location in the MCU, though has seemingly been reversed in subsequent projects after Infinity War, Endgame, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Captain America: Civil War's mid-credits scene featured Bucky Barnes being stowed away in Wakanda, and Black Panther's post-credits scene reveals that he is still there, now being dubbed the White Wolf by the Wakandan children. After the traumatic cliffhanger ending of Avengers: Infinity War saw Thanos achieve his genocidal goal, using the Infinity Stones to erase half the population of the universe, the film's single post-credits scene catches up with Nick Fury and Maria Hill, Cobie Smulders' former SHIELD agent. The pair had been absent for the entirety of Infinity War, but are revealed to be two victims of Thanos' snap. However, only seconds before disintegrating to dust, Fury is able to use a futuristic pager to send a signal to none other than Captain Marvel. This scene provides a glimpse of the impact of Thanos' snap, as the world is thrust into chaos.

Scott Lang Becomes Trapped In The Quantum Realm

Ant-Man & The Wasp

Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place concurrently to the events of Avengers: Infinity War, though Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne have no knowledge of the bigger fight going on across the universe. As a shock for Marvel Studios' audiences, Ant-Man and the Wasp's mid-credits scene sees Lang enter the Quantum Realm apparently safely to gather energy, only to be stuck inside when Hope van Dyne, Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet van Dyne fall victim to Thanos' snap. While the majority of the film was set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel's mid-credits scene returned to the Avengers in the wake of Thanos' snap. The remaining heroes had found Fury's pager, and had been investigating where the signal had been sent to, and when the pager stops sending its beacon, the team are met by Captain Marvel, wondering where her friend is. This moment leads directly into the opening of Avengers: Endgame, during which Captain Marvel helps the Avengers track down Thanos.

Captain Marvel's post-credits scene takes audiences back to the 1990s setting of the film, where Goose the Flerken sits on Nick Fury's desk at SHIELD. Suddenly, the cat-like creature throws up the Tesseract which it had swallowed earlier in the film. This post-credits scene explains how SHIELD came into possession of the Tesseract ahead of Thor's post-credits scene and The Avengers, revealing that it had been in Fury's safe hands since the '90s. This also provided a little moment of comic relief before Avengers: Endgame hit theaters only a month later.

Avengers: Endgame didn't feature any end-credits scenes, other than an audio clip paying homage to Tony Stark's Iron Man, who sacrificed himself during the film. After the explosive reveal of Spider-Man's true identity to the world, Spider-Man: Far From Home's post-credits scene features Nick Fury and Maria Hill driving along after the events of the film, though the pair slowly transform into their real Skrull forms. Ben Mendelsohn reprises his role of Talos from Captain Marvel, and Maria Hill is actually revealed to be Talos' wife, Soren. The pair call the real Nick Fury, who is revealed to have been in space for an indeterminate amount of time. This scene leads directly into the events of Phase 5's Secret Invasion on Disney+, which sees Nick Fury return to Earth to investigate a Skrull rebellion.

Monica Rambeau Is Caught Snooping

WandaVision marked Marvel Studios' first Disney+ series, and the first project in Phase 4 and the Multiverse Saga, exploring the lives of Wanda Maximoff and Vision in the wake of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. During episode 7, "Breaking the Fourth Wall," Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau - grown up from the character's debut in Captain Marvel - is caught snooping in Wanda's Westview Hex by "Pietro Maximoff", though Evan Peters is later revealed to be playing an actor named Ralph Bohner who had fallen under Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness' control.

Vision Returns With A New White Look

Throughout WandaVision, it's made clear that the Vision viewers have been watching was created by Wanda during her creation of the Hex. Outside the walls of the Hex, however, Paul Bettany reprises the role of the original Vision, put back together by SWORD after his death in Avengers: Infinity War with a new white look. White Vision was brought back online using the energy from the Scarlet Witch's Hex, and is later sent into the Hex to take down the Scarlet Witch and kill the other Vision. White Vision will return in Marvel Studios' upcoming Vision Quest series, though his future in the franchise after that is currently unclear.

Monica Rambeau Is Called To Action

The series finale of WandaVision included two end-credits scenes, much like the average Marvel Studios film. The first of these saw Monica Rambeau approached by a Skrull in the aftermath of the Scarlet Witch's Hex being taken down. Rambeau is called to action and told that her next assignment is in space, assumedly with Nick Fury, who was revealed to be off-world in Spider-Man: Far From Home's post-credits scene. This scene teases the storyline of 2023's The Marvels, which sees Monica Rambeau working with Fury on the mysterious SABER Space Station when her powers become entangled with Captain Marvel's and Ms. Marvel's.

The Darkhold Corrupts The Scarlet Witch

The second end-credits scene in WandaVision's series finale features the Scarlet Witch hiding out in a remote cabin, potentially in her home nation of Sokovia. While she appears to be living a normal life, a closer inspection reveals that she has cast a vivid illusion, and that she is actually scouring the pages of the Darkhold, the MCU's Book of the Damned, searching for a way to bring back her lost sons. This scene leads directly into the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which sees Wanda become a villain in the MCU, wreaking havoc across the multiverse thanks to the information in the Darkhold.

John Walker Makes A New Captain America Shield

The post-credits scene of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 5, "Truth," picks up after Wyatt Russell's John Walker had been stripped of his title of Captain America. Obsessed with carrying the moniker, however, Walker fashions himself a new shield in the style of Steve Rogers', proclaiming to perhaps seek revenge on Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, or perhaps finally do some good. This comes to fruition in the series finale, which sees him help Sam and Bucky defeat the Flag Smashers - before he is recruited by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Julia Louis-Dreyfus' mysterious benefactor, who dubs him US Agent.

Sharon Carter Is Pardoned By The US Government

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's series finale revealed that Sharon Carter had been operating in Madripoor as the nefarious Power Broker. When Emily VanCamp's character is finally pardoned by the US government in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's post-credits scene, Carter is revealed to be using her new position and access to secrets to build her reputation and influence as the Power Broker. This scene hasn't seen any pay off in the MCU yet, but it could come to a head in Phase 5's Captain America: New World Order, which will mark Sam Wilson's big-screen debut as the MCU's Captain America.

Loki Meets His Variants In The Void

After Loki is pruned by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) in Loki season 1, episode 4, "The Nexus Event," the God of Mischief finds himself in the barren Void being greeted by a quartet of his own multiversal variants. Loki introduced the concept of the multiverse to the MCU slowly over its first season, and the introduction of several Loki variants in this post-credits scene came as a fantastic surprise to Marvel Studios' audiences. These variants included Richard E. Grant as Classic Loki, Jack Veal as Kid Loki, DeObia Oparei as Boastful Loki, and curiously Alligator Loki, though many more Loki variants were introduced in the following episode.

Loki Season 2 Was Confirmed

Loki's season 1 finale didn't have a full post-credits scene like Marvel Studios' prior Disney+ shows, but there was a small stinger after the credits nonetheless. During this brief moment, a TVA agent stamps onto a document that Loki will return in season 2. Loki season 2 is expected to release in late 2023, and will pick up after the confusing events of Loki's season 1 finale, which saw the God of Mischief trapped in a different version of the TVA. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania provided another tease to Loki season 2, which will once again see Loki team up with Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius.

Valentina Sends Yelena To Kill Hawkeye

Florence Pugh debuted as Yelena Belova in Phase 4's Black Widow, revealed to be the surrogate sister of Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow. While most of Black Widow was set during the time between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, Black Widow's post-credits scene caught up with Yelena in the months after Avengers: Endgame, as the MCU newcomer heads to Romanoff's grave - she sacrificed herself in Endgame. There, Yelena is met by Valentina, who previously appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and revealed to be working as an assassin whose next target is Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye.

What If...?

Marvel Studios' What If...? provided an entertaining glimpse at alternate realities in the MCU, told through the magic of animation. While the series culminated in the Guardians of the Multiverse forming to battle Infinity Ultron, season 1's only post-credits scene sees Captain Carter return to action in her original timeline. Teaming up with Black Widow in a scene reminiscent of Captain America: The Winter Soldier's opening moments, the pair discover the survival of the HYDRA Stomper armor, which Steve Rogers had used during WWII instead of getting the super-soldier serum. This sets up a potential storyline for What If...? season 2 starring Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter once again.

The Avengers Investigate The Ten Rings

Shang-Chi & The Legend Of The Ten Rings

At the end of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Simu Liu's eponymous Shang-Chi and Awkwafina's Katy are seemingly recruited by Wong to be Avengers. However, the film's mid-credits scene features Wong introducing the pair to Bruce Banner and Carol Danvers, all of whom are investigating a mysterious beacon being sent out by Shang-Chi's Ten Rings - which themselves are of unknown origin even to Captain Marvel. While it's unclear who is being alerted by this beacon, this scene is surely setting up a major storyline for the future of the MCU, and also gave audiences a tease at a now-human Bruce Banner ahead of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Xialing Takes Control Of The Ten Rings

Shang-Chi & The Legend Of The Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' post-credits scene catches up with Shang-Chi's sister, Meng'er Zhang's Xialing, who is revealed to have taken control of the Ten Rings organization following their father's death in Ta Lo. This scene could be teasing a villainous future for Xialing in the MCU, potentially setting her up as Shang-Chi's adversary in the proposed Shang-Chi 2. This could mark the rise of a new criminal power player in the MCU, especially since Xialing already has experience running a massive fight club as she was introduced as the head of a secret fight club in Macau that she founded when she was only sixteen.

Eros Was Introduced As Thanos' Brother

Upon its release, Eternals became one of Marvel Studios' most criticized projects for a variety of reasons, one including the fact that so many characters were introduced in such a short space of time. Among them were two new MCU characters in Eternals' mid-credits scene: Patton Oswalt as Pip the Troll, and Harry Styles as Eros, a.k.a. Starfox. Revealed as the brother of the Mad Titan Thanos (creating a lot of confusion as Thanos' MCU backstory was changed from the Marvel Comics source material), Eros claims to be able to help the other Eternals who had been taken by the Celestial Arishem, teasing his involvement in a potential Eternals 2.

Dane Whitman Is Warned By The MCU's Blade

Kit Harrington's Dane Whitman was shrouded in mystery throughout Eternals, though his curious ancestry was teased. Following the Eternals' abduction by the Celestial Arishem, Whitman opens a box labeled "Death Is His Reward" in Eternals' post-credits scene, within which lies the Ebony Blade. This sword grows in strength the more blood it spills, and grants its user the power of the Black Knight in Marvel Comics. Though he's tempted to grab the sword, which seems to move when approached, Whitman is warned against it by the voice of Mahershala Ali, who is set to debut as Eric Brooks, a.k.a. Blade, in the MCU's Blade reboot.

Rogers: The Musical Gives Audiences A Treat

Only one post-credits scene is delivered in Hawkeye on Disney+, the series that introduced Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, and paid off Black Widow's post-credits scene. Following the series finale, audiences are treated to an extended performance from the cast of Rogers: The Musical, a musical that was captured in part during Hawkeye episode 1, "Never Meet Your Heroes." Posters and merchandise for Rogers: The Musical has since been seen in a variety of subsequent MCU projects, cementing the hit new musical's influence over the general public of the MCU, as they get a glimpse into the lives of their superheroes.
