The English: Full cast list and how to watch

BBC's new drama The English follows the story of Pawnee scout Eli Whipp who has just been released from long-term army service in 1890 Oklahoma.

With plans to return north to his ancestral homelands in Nebraska to stake a legal land claim.

But things take a violent turn for Eli when he meets Lady Cornelia Locke, an Englishwoman who's also travelling north.

However, Lady Locke is travelling north with the intent to seek revenge against the man she believes is responsible for the death of her child.

The two begin the journey north together as they face violent fights and find themselves running for their lives.

The show stars actress Emily Blunt who also was an executive producer for the drama.

It was written and directed by award winner filmmaker Hugo Blick who is best know for his work The Honourable Woman, Black Earth Rising and The Shadow Line to name a few.

Along with Blunt's familiar face, viewers might recognise Chaske Spencer who plays Eli from his previous work that includes a major role in the vampire films, Twilight as Sam Uley.

How to watch The English

The new drama starts at 9pm on Thursday, November 10 on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

There will be six episodes that air weekly at the same time and will also be available on iPlayer.
