Mondrian SoHo Gives Us Healthy Cocktails (Yes, Really) In The Sky

The “farm-to-table” food trend is perhaps one of our favorite culinary movements as of late. As much as we love our Oreos, we always feel a bit better knowing just exactly where our food is coming from. Finally, the transparency-in-food trend has carried over into cocktail territory. Mondrian Soho recently opened Soaked, a rooftop lounge located in their 4,000-square-foot penthouse. The view is stunning, but the real draw is the drinks. The cocktails are sweetened by fruit, rather than excess sugar or — even worse — artificial flavors.
Think of Soaked as the love child of a local juice bar and cocktail lounge. In addition to fruit platters and natural popsicles (a welcome change from the typical greasy bar fare), the menu offers unique refreshers, like the Super Friends, which made with Avion tequila, apple, pear, pineapple, wheatgrass, and mint. Wait. Does this mean we can stop feeling guilty about going out when our summer goal is to “get healthier”?

Unfortunately, Soaked is invite only. While we'd never condone party crashing (tackier than a hot pink Juicy Couture sweatsuit), we’re not above finding out who has invites and making friends with them. Judge all you want, but when the weather gets more sweaty than sultry, a rooftop bar is the perfect place to be — and, healthy drinks just makes it all the more enticing.
