• Miranda Lambert and her ex-husband Blake Shelton divorced in 2015.
  • Following their separation, she had two more relationships with Anderson East and Evan Felker, whom she split with in April 2018 and August 2018, respectively.
  • She announced in February 2019 that she married Brendan McLoughlin in a surprise ceremony, and the two have been living together on her Tennessee farm ever since.

Miranda Lambert and her husband definitely had a whirlwind romance, but the couple has been married for a year and a half and they've shared so many adventures together so far.

The country star announced in February 2019 that she married Brendan McLoughlin in a surprise ceremony, and everyone was floored (including ex-husband Blake Shelton). Since then, the pair quickly settled into newlywed life, enjoying vacations, a few award shows, and some casual date nights together. Last year, they even rescued a kitten together and bought an Airstream for all their road tripping adventures!

Unfortunately, there have been some low points, too. They’ve had to dodge paparazzi while traveling; defend their marriage when rumors spread that it was over; and deal with social media trolls who don’t have anything nice to say. But this isn’t Miranda’s first highly publicized relationship, and she's been handling it all with class—and her signature fiery attitude.

The good news is that Brendan has been by Miranda’s side every step of the way, and they seem to be totally on the same page when it comes to their family, which includes Brendan’s son from a former relationship. Here’s everything to know about Miranda’s husband.

He’s an NYPD officer.

Brendan is a New York police officer who hails from Staten Island. He was assigned to the South Midtown Precinct near Times Square, but he went on an "authorized leave of absence" in July 2019, according to People.

He met Miranda on the job.

Their careers couldn’t be more different, but their jobs are what brought them together. They met while Miranda was doing Good Morning America with her band, The Pistol Annies.

"My husband was doing security there for the show. My girlfriends, the Annies, saw him and knew I might be ready to hang out with someone," she told the New York Times. "They invited him to our show behind my back."

Turns out, they're pretty good friends because the two obviously hit it off!

He’s a dad.

Brendan is a dad to a 1-year-old son who he shares with his ex, Kaihla Rettinger, according to People. Miranda has apparently loved being a stepmom, and gushed about it earlier this year.

“My stepson is amazing,” she said. “I’m loving that whole phase, and I’ve raised a million dogs, so I feel like I’ve got that part of my womanly/motherly thing is full, so this is a whole new journey. It’s great.”

He’s in his 20s.

According to Us Weekly, Brendan is 28 years old. At 36, Miranda is eight years older than her hubby.

He has something in common with her parents.

Brendan shares something very important with his new wife’s parents: They’re both in law enforcement, according to People. Her dad, Rick, was reportedly a homicide-and-narcotics cop in Dallas, and he owned a detective agency with her mom, Bev.

But based on the huge smiles they both have in the photo from their wedding, we don’t need to hire an investigator to see that the singer is overjoyed at her new relationship.

He's a great travel companion.

Miranda has been collecting vintage trailers since before she met Brendan, but during the coronavirus pandemic the two decided to go a step further and purchase a brand new Airstream to use for traveling. "I have the most amazing travel companion," she wrote about Brendan in an Instagram post about the new trailer.

“Y’all Meet ‘The Sheriff,’” she said. “A 2020 Airstream Globetrotter. (thanks @rocketcityrv) I’ve been a vintage trailer collector for years and this is my very first new one." We're glad Brendan is on board for some road trips!

The two later drove "The Sheriff" to Asheville, North Carolina, to visit the Biltmore Estate, and to Greensboro, Georgia, to visit Lake Oconee.

Most recently, Miranda shared a sweet snap from sunny California, where she and Brendan traveled for the 2021 Grammy Awards. (Miranda is nominated for Best Country Album, Best Country Song, and Best Country Solo Performance.)

He's not afraid of the spotlight.

Brendan had a starring role in Miranda's 2020 music video for her song "Settling Down," and fans were quick to comment on their adorable chemistry on-screen. Miranda even chimed in herself by posting a steamy behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram with the caption: "Shirtless husband promo volume 5 is coming for y’all tonight in the ‘Settling Down’ video."

He has a soft spot for animals, too.

Miranda is well known for her love for dogs and animals of all kinds. (She did start her very own pet adoption charity, Mutt Nation, after all!) In 2020, Miranda shared an Instagram that showcased Brendan's own penchant for pet rescue.

In her post, she told fans how he was responsible for bringing home their newest family member, Tequila the kitten. "There’s a kitten in the road and I knew you would kill me if I saw it and didn’t stop," he told Miranda, according to her post. These two are an animal-loving match made in heaven!
