This is located in a pedestrianised area and if you pick the right moment, you can have this monument exclusively to yourself. I revisited the monument a number of times during my stay in Tver and didn't have to wait long for this to happen. It might be a good idea to gen up on this singer before you visit to really appreciate the monument. He is still fondly remembered today with single flowers strewn across his arms and this looks particularly effective when taking photos as the monument itself is dark in colour.

If you are familiar with Krug, then it makes sense to visit the monument. We saw it in passing and then only learned about him

Breaking our journey between Moscow and St. Petersberg in this quietly impressive city by the Volga, I could not believe my eyes when I came across a metal bench on which sat a bronze sculpture of a male holding a large balalaika (I assume), his rounded hat resting on the bench to his right. I had seen two days earlier exactly the same work on the East side-walk of Tverskaya St in Moscow, and nobody could tell me anything about it. It turns out that it was dedicated to a nationally popular folk singer who in 2002 was shot to death in his home at Tver. I did a little research and discovered that a 4-part TV series on his life is planned, or has already been produced. It is a small world, even in a country as large as Russia. I regard this little work as a masterpiece of urban art that catches the eye and the interest immediately.

There are so many places in Tver which are worth to visit apart of this monument.

Of course it depends on your taste and preferences .. if you like Russian chanson and lyrics about prison then you may visit this monument.

Otherwise you may have a walk along Radischeva and see the buildings of 19 century (where Pushkin was)
