Board of Directors Bio: Michelle Williams

Dr. Michelle Williams is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Consultant Radiologist at the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian, Scotland, UK. Her research centers around multi-modality non-invasive imaging of the heart and vasculature. After completing her medical training in Edinburgh, she undertook a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship at The University of Edinburgh and obtained her Phd. She was research fellow for the SCOT-HEART study, a multicenter randomized control trial of the role of CT imaging in patients attending outpatient cardiology clinics. This work has been awarded numerous prizes and lead to changes in national and international guidelines. Her research interests include CT coronary angiography, CT myocardial perfusion imaging, magnetic resonance angiography, molecular imaging of atherosclerotic plaque and machine learning. She currently holds a British Heart Foundation Intermediate Clinical Research Fellowship. She is an Associate Director of the British Heart Foundation Data Science Centre and their theme lead for Imaging Data. She is president elect of the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, member of the Board of Directors of the SCCT and member of the SCCT education committee.
