Isabella Strahan Tears Up in Update on Cancer Battle - Parade Skip to main content

Isabella Strahan has some good news to share in her ongoing fight against cancer.

The 19-year-old daughter of Good Morning America's Michael Strahan updated her followers in the latest installment of her vlog series, where she has been documenting her journey since being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in October 2023.

In the new video shared on YouTube on Wednesday, April 10, Isabella was visibly emotional while announcing the good news she had just received from her doctor.

“My doctor just called and told me I only have to do two more rounds of chemo and I’m so happy," she said in the clip, while wiping tears from her eyes. "So I’ll be done in May and I can kind of try to have a summer to feel better."

Initially, Isabella was told she would need to do six rounds of chemotherapy, which she would have finished by the end of July, before going right back to school at the University of Southern California

But after finishing two rounds, Isabella was pleasantly surprised to learn that she would only need two more rounds.

"I'm halfway there!" she celebrated later in the clip. "I'm halfway done with chemo!"

"I'm just super happy," the teen continued, adding, "Today's a great day, even though I kind of feel really horrible. Today's a great day."

Isabella has remained cheerful and optimistic throughout her cancer journey, which began last October after she underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor from her brain.

She began chemotherapy treatments in February before she ended up back in the hospital needing another surgery in March, which caused her to delay her second chemotreatment.

But now that she's recovered from surgery and already has two rounds of chemo behind her, Isabella seems ready to tackle just two more rounds before getting to enjoy her summer.
