Raymond Mott, formerly of the Lake Arthur police department, was snapped wearing a Klan symbol while standing alongside a man in the familiar white hood in August last year.

Mott initially claimed he was at the North Carolina rally working undercover for the FBI, but later admitted he'd been lying.
After finally coming clean, and following his termination, Mott remained unrepentant.
'The picture speaks for itself,' Mott told KATC. 'I'm standing at a rally against illegal immigration. There's not much to be said about the picture. I've never denied it was me.'
Though he isn't denying the authenticity of the photo, Mott has vowed to fight his termination, which he claims did not adhere to municipal regulations.
'I've contacted an attorney already,' said Mott, who claims the termination was illegal and that he plans to sue.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the rally Mott attended in Troy, North Carolina was for the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, one of the largest Klan groups.
Mott worked for local law enforcement in Jennings, Iberia Parish, Youngsville and Eunice before coming on at Lake Arthur, where he soon became the officer with the most arrests under his belt.
Michael Cassidy, district attorney for the 31st Judicial District Court, said that all arrests made by Mott that lead to prosecutions will be reviewed.
Lake Arthur is located in southern Louisiana, 180 miles west of New Orleans.
The U.S. Census estimates that 2,735 people lived there in 2013, 80 percent of whom were white while 17 percent were black.
