James Michael Tackett, 69, of Beckley, WV went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 24th, 2022 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born July 18th, 1953 in Pikeville, KY. He was the son of the late James Noble Tackett and Dorothy Mae Hylton Sherman.
He attended Bible Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his three sons, grandchildren and other family and friends. Mike will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his half-sister Betty Sue Dalley of Taylor, MI.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Judy Tackett of 24 years; sons, Michael Noble Tackett and wife Kim of Koloa, Hawaii, Christopher Lee Tackett and wife Tiffany of Vansant, VA, Justin Caleb Tackett and wife Jess of Knoxville TN; step-son Adam Taylor and wife Mandy of Beckley, WV; sisters, Diane Cassady and husband Bill of Daniels, WV, Linda Bishop and husband Michael of Middlesboro, KY; half-brother Charles Randal Tackett and wife Rachel of Taylor MI; and (brotherly) Jimmy Hylton and wife Linda Kay of Pikeville, KY.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jayde, Rachel, Levi, and Leah Tackett of Vansant, VA, Elliot Taylor of Beckley, WV; a great-granddaughter, Braelyn Faith Tackett of Vansant, VA; niece, Kayla Hatmaker and husband Casey of Middlesboro, KY; nephews, K.J. Phillips and wife Melissa of Goody, KY, Brandon Cassady and wife Katelyn of Beckley, WV, Jeff Dalley and wife Dorrine of Port Orange, FL; as well as a host of grand-nieces and grand-nephews and other special relatives; and special friends, Don Dinger and wife Connie of Bluefield, WV, Eric Gaffka and wife Michelle of Port Orange, FL and their children.
A celebration of his life will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home-Beckley, Friday, July 29th, 2022, at 1 PM with Pastor Sam Green officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 11 AM until the time of the service. The burial will follow after the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers send memorial contributions to Bible Baptist Missions of MacArthur, WV.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
