Melissa McCarthy Debuts New Clothing Line: See Pieces from Her Chic Collection!

After months of waiting, we’re finally getting a peek at Melissa McCarthy‘s venture into the fashion world! The actress revealed a few pieces from her Melissa McCarthy Seven7 clothing line.

McCarthy’s collection (which will be available at Lane Bryant and Macy’s, plus on HSN and her website) ranges from sizes 4 to 28 and contains fun prints (like the animal-print pieces she’s already worn on the red carpet), asymmetrical hemlines and flattering dress silhouettes.

“My friend designed these for me,” she told Vogue of the heart-print design featured on white tunic top she wears in the ad below. “He’s an artist in Los Angeles, and I told him to give me something really quick with energy. It’s not too sweet.”

McCarthy’s line also includes denim. The actress revealed she used to be “completely against” jeans, but recently jumped on the bandwagon. “One of the best parts of a woman’s body is that curve, and I go a little bit higher on all of my things to show off the best part of the hourglass,” she said of the bottoms in her collection.

The star, who worked with stylist Judy Swartz to incorporate many of her pieces on her Spy press tour this summer, told PEOPLE in June that creating the collection has been a passion project for her.

“I started this line because I wanted to know: Where are the normal clothes?” she explained. “This really is a selfish venture. I wanted to build a better closet for myself.”

She also made sure the fit of the clothes addressed her style pet peeves. “I’ve worn every single piece. There are little jeans that are super stretchy and they come all the way up, because I just do not need to see anyone’s muffin top, and I do not need to see anyone bend over and be able to tell what color underwear they’re wearing anymore,” she told PEOPLE.

Another important addition to the line? Chic pieces with sleeves. “Yes, there are lots of sleeves here! Hallelujah!” she said. “Do you know how many fights I’ve had about sleeves? I was actually told once [by a manufacturer she’s not working with now], ‘Plus-size women do not want sleeves, in any capacity.’ I was like, ‘Are you crazy? That’s not accurate! I am plus-size, and I want them, I have friends who are size 26 and size 8 and they want a sleeve! Very few things [in Seven7] don’t have sleeves. My stuff has sleeves, my stuff has pockets, you can count on that.”

McCarthy will introduce her new designs on HSN on August 13, and her collection launches September 1.
