I had the time of my life in Cabo San Lucas. I know with Covid-19 being a thing that is here to stay so many of us are apprehensive about traveling but use my review as a SIGN TO GO. Over there, dare I say i felt more comfortable there then I probably would at some places in the states. They take your temp everywhere you go, you have to wear your masks, and they have hand sanitizer all over the city. So lets go to my time there with planning my trip. I had to find somewhere to stay and after scouring the net for days, I found the Medano Hotel and Suites, and called them and spoke to Matias. Matias was our concierge and he was Amazing, literally helped us with our room, our excursions, and transportation to and from the airport. If you're going to be staying here, Ask for him. Literally one of the kindest people that I met in Cabo San Lucas (and i met a LOT of amazing people) Gabby, Fabiola. and Adan were also pretty spectacular as well. They were kind, they were always willing to help me whether it was warming up food, getting towels late night, or even making sure the food that I ordered was delivered safely. Staying at the Medano Hotel and Suites was such a great choice, because it was within my budget, it was up to my standards when traveling (and I've stayed at many places from air bnb's to 5 star hotels) from the cleanliness to room size, and I had ZERO complaints. If you are looking for an affordable, awesome property, with some of the greatest people that inhabit Cabo San Lucas that book your trip and stay at the Medano, and ask for Matias so he can help plan your trip to maximize your time there!

We tend to stay at all inclusive resorts, but with low capacity driving hotel prices up we gave this hotel a chance so we could experience local restaurants more. If this hotel was on the beach it would be called a resort because many of the amenities and service are the same as beachside resorts. So if you have any doubts ,let them go... The room we have is a family suite and the separate bedroom layout worked perfectly for my small family of four. The furniture and finishes are that of a 4 star resort. Modern and extremely comfortable. My children are enjoying the patio hammock the most with the good wifi coming in clutch. Accessibility to restaurants and Medano Beach has cost us an avg 4 dllr trip on Uber each time. The free breakfast is phenomenal with the on site chef outdoing herself. It was my Sons birthday and she personally came out and the staff put on a show.. Breakfast had Better pancakes and frenchtoast than any of your hometown places. The pool bar has well trained staff and Carlos is putting out some great cocktails. The gym is a full gym that you have access too. It's huge and has most modern equipment you are accustomed too. Our experience is halfway through but wanted to review incase anyone was on the fence about booking.

The price of this hotel during the holiday wasn’t inexpensive but it did have lots of positives:

Breakfast buffet (served by staff) was excellent. Lots of choices from fresh fruit to toast to an array of hot foods. Not much for vegans or vegetarians though.

The pool was great (not much shade or umbrellas tho) with a bar and restaurant. Good drink deals but food for lunch & dinner we’re ridiculously high so didn’t eat there.

Free guest laundry definitely a bonus as well as pickle ball courts (new), mini golf and apparently a gym.

Wifi sucked!!! Water pressure also an issue. You would have a shower and water would spurt and change temperature.

The suites had lots of amenities including toasted, micro, fridge, blender, cook top and utensils.

Medano was a great vacation spot with a few issues but remember you are in Mexico.

I didn’t like the US dollar charges. I’m from Canada - just stick with your own peso currency.

Central with lots of restaurants within Walking distance.

I would come back for sure and bring my own food.

Staff were very accommodating.

The check in procedure was HORRIBLE!!!! They nickeled and dimed us the whole time and tried to charge for extra people in the room even though the room is designed for 2-4. $140 for 1 extra person...c'mon. They claimed it was because breakfast was included but breakfast was not $20 a day so what was the extra money for?

We were there for my friends birthday and because of this "rule" they had, she ended up cancelling her reservation and stayed at the Marriott. They would rather lose business and money instead of trying to accommodate an extra person. The thing about it is, her rate for 1 person was the same as what I paid for 2 people, sooooo what was the extra charge for?

They never told us that we needed tickets in order to get breakfast (found out from another person). We never knew they had a spa onsite and we ended up going elsewhere for services and paid double.

The cleaning people would always take our towels and cloths and never replace the ones they took. I literally had to call the front desk everyday in order to get them to bring new wash clothes. One day they only gave us one clean one and there were 2 people in my room. This was the worst part of the room itself.

The service from the waitstaff at the pool was less than stellar. They were very nice and did the best they could but you could tell they were very overworked and understaffed. Literally we had to wait 30 minutes or more to get our food.

This is a very nice looking hotel and the rooms are spacious but I most likely would not stay here again due to the attitude of the manager and the young girl at the check-in desk. She was not very helpful or accommodating.

We were quoted $32 for our Covid Test but once we arrived to take ours, they tried to up the price to $50. Can you imagine our surprise as were not prepared to pay that difference.

Noisy due to construction right across the street. We didn't realize the rooms of this hotel are open to the outside. Room does not come with hair dryer. I had to call front desk twice and waited 15 minutes and the lady who delivered the hair dryer had an attitute. When we arrived, the room only had two bath towels and one hand towel and we had to ask for more towels. The most annoying thing is that the entire stay, we had to wear a wrist bracelet. Due to the big game going on, they had to move breakfast to a farther location, which we didn't mind, but quality of breakfast was not up to par so we ended up going out to breakfast for the rest of the stay. Decent location. Front desk guys are friendly.

I got a suite with two beds. The suite states 4 people can sleep here. It was a total of 3 of us and the front desk said we had to pay $20 extra for the third person which made no sense since it was a suite for 4 people. The wife here sucks so bad goodluck with that. The good thing about this hotel it is surrounded by a good number of restaurants and it’s in a good location. The breakfast is meh but it is free so I guess you get what you pay for. The gym is pretty awesome I got my workouts in.

Liked · Five stars for the spacious rooms, excellent room cleaning , great walk-ability to beach docks and downtown. The downstairs staff was super friendly which helped a lot for booking activities. I recommend booking actives with the hotel to avoid scams. They also had good prices. I also appreciated the quick checkin. Overall the building is well kept and newer. The do have free laundry room to do laundry yourself which is nice. No beach view but i actually enjoyed the city view at night.
The big gym was probably my favorite part of the hotel. 💪🏾👍🏾 The equipment is new with lots of options you can't see in the official pictures. The hotel was super walkable unlike my friends hotel at the RUI which they always needed a cab. Because we could walk i felt we got a better experience in the area. Between the hotel and the beach are alot of great restaurants. Also the money i saved on the hotel i used for day passes at nearby hotels which was great. I highly recommend the 2nd story beach massage places cause they were cheap, with beach view, and away from the pan handlers.
Attached to the hotel is a great strip mall. There was a hospital we used for covid tests, a 7-11 type store for snacks, a wine store, some coffee places, and an amazing restaurant Cocina & Bar that had amazing food and coctails. The bigger resorts wont have all this on site.

Disliked · The one downside was the breakfast. It's just bad, i recommend retraining all the chefs. You can order additional food but i didn't see the point when every besides the fruit and pancakes was made improperly. By no means would this scare me away. The pool is not great. I never went. The intersection in front of the hotel is quite dangerous so you need to cross with caution. Wifi could be improved too so recommend GoogleFi and i was fine.

Pros: The hotel is modern and clean. We had a junior suite which had a kitchen with toaster, microwave, blender, two rings etc. I think what made it a “junior suite” was the sofa. Loved the desk which separated from the wall so we were able to use it to eat out on the spacious balcony. We were surprised there were so many English speaking channels on the TV.
Con: There is a fire station closeby sounding deafeningly loud, frequent alarms. It’s a double wammy since the noise comes through the balcony window AND through the door opposite, since the outside hallway wall is open air. Likewise, the very loud music into the night from the many competing restaurants. If very loud noise is not a problem, this is a great hotel. There is toss across, croquet, whiffle ball, and golf to pass some time on the roof. I took the point off for the noise.
FYI: It takes just over an hour by shuttle to the airport. The hotel charges a hefty US $23 each, or you can catch the The Ruta del Desierto bus which runs every 12 minutes for only MX$80 or US$4. It takes 1.5 hours. Both currencies are accepted on the bus, however its exact fare only, so you give them a $20 bill, that’s what you pay. No credit cards. Uber is available too. For breakfast, the hotel charges MX$250 (about US$12.50) or its sometimes included. The waiters were excellent.

I needed a hotel room close to the AMC Hospital because of a family member medical emergency, and chose this one because of the location. I'm very happy with the staff, they were very helpful and accommodating for my needs when I didn't have an actual checkout date they were very flexible. The food was fantastic but limited selections, house keeping was great Alitia was meticulous. The facilities are great. And a special thanks to Matias for all of his help and advice with local knowledge and arrangements with transportation.

The key card machine was not working, so you needed to have a leap of faith so that you’d have to ask each time for room to be opened by security. There was a band playing next to the hotel until 10pm. If it had been a good band, maybe the loud, noise could have been more acceptable, but this is the quieter end of Cabo town and the disruptive music was not welcome.
The staff were all friendly & professional, especially Matias. He answered all questions and helped with luggage & taxi & key card issues. Very nice & welcoming.
The upkeep shows wear & tear but a coat of paint would make a big difference. The water had distinctive chemical odor. The pool landscape is very pretty.
Included Breakfast was delicious each morning.
Cocktails were well made. There is a wonderful pizzeria just to the side of the Medano.
