This place has become one of my wife and my favorites. Woodstock cafe provides food comparable to high end dining in a casual relaxed atmosphere. The food is well prepared and they take care in the selection of ingredients. Our favorite dish is the ribeye...which rivals steakhouses that would charge much more for this quality. It’s served with delicious potatoes - just writing about it is making my mouth water. Everything we have had here is great so you can’t go wrong. Along with great food you can also select a bottle of wine from their “little wine shop” each hand picked by their owner. It’s great to enjoy a bottle of expertly selected wine at prices better than Total Wine. The owners Nikki & Jose (the chef) really care about what they do and you can feel it in the food they serve & the dining experience. The service is always perfect with a friendly and knowledgeable team. This place is a must visit if you are in the area. You will thank me as you dig into that delicious perfectly cooked ribeye complimented with the herb butter...More

I loved this cafe and wine shop. I have stopped here several times in my trips to the Shenandoah Valley. The staff is always friendly and the food it good. My only complaint is that they have plastic stirrers for the coffee and styrofoam take...out containers. I would give them five stars if they would change to wooded stirrers and cardboard carryout containers.More

We were on our way towards Lexington and decided to stop at Woodstock for lunch We certainly weren't disappointed. We arrived about 12:10 and went to the counter to place our order. The menu ranges from salads and wraps to Sandwiches and Paninis. My wife...ordered a chicken Caesar and I ordered a the Cubano panini. You pay and they give you your drinks and a holder with number on it so your ordered can be delivered to your table. Everything is made to order and there was a crowd so there was a leisurely wait and both of us had a chance to peruse the extensive wine selections and accompaniments. My wife's Caesar was crisp and very flavorful dressing. And the chicken was tender. My Cuban was pressed perfectly and the pulled pork was moist and flavorful (not smoked) and the ham nice with a bit of saltiness with the Swiss cheese melted and enough dill pickles to give almost every bite some crunch. The beer mustard was a nice touch. Every plate that we saw go by us looked delicious. The good news too is that you can halfsies on any of the sallads, wraps, sandwiches or paninis. The restaurant is in the heart of downtown Woodstock with street parking and even more spots behind the restaurant. And, it's not too far off of I-81. BTW, lots of locals were there.More

So we were just looking for a place to eat, not expecting much when we stopped at Woodstock Cafe. I had looked at the menu previously and saw that it was what seemed like a sandwich shop. However what I didn’t notice was it was...a sandwich shop by day and then more traditional restaurant meals by night. So there was three of us, my wife and my daughter and myself and when we got in and looked at the actual menu we were a little surprised because it wasn’t what we were expecting. Two of us had hamburgers and my wife had a couple different appetizers. What ended up happening is quite possibly one of the greatest experiences of my life at a restaurant. Not only was the food all cooked to perfection tasted amazing the service there was excellent the people are friendly, about 3/4 of the way through our meal a lady that I am assuming was the manager stopped by our table and asked how things were and we told her everything was so amazing she said thank you and left and we thought nothing more of it. Then about five minutes later she shows up with one of their menu items a fantastic bread type item with this dip that was just so good it was some type of aïoli dip that came with the scallops and we were just saying how great it was and that we didn’t have anything else to actually dip into it so she brought us a huge piece of bread and another container of the dip so that we could have a little more of it. In my 35+ years of going to restaurants I’ve never experienced someone from a restaurant randomly just bringing me a food item from the menu without being prompted in someway it was truly just an act of kindness which makes it so much more special. If you are in this area for any reason, I can’t recommend this cafe more. It was truly an amazing restaurant and eating experience.More

Woodstock Cafe is always first-rate, and has been my go-to escape for excellent to-go food and service during the pandemic! From the delicious breakfast sandwiches to mouthwatering paninis for lunch everything has been great. The dinners (order ahead!) have been superb. Possibly the best lasagna...I've ever had was dropped off at my friend's house in Woodstock, along with buttery focaccia, a fresh salad, and an exquisite bottle of red. So glad to have Woodstock Cafe help us get through the pandemic (no table service at the moment obviously), but can't wait for "normal" to return!More

While driving through the area we stopped into Woodstock Café, after scoping it out on social media (since the reviews were really good) and we have to say, the food was very nice! They have a decent menu, loaded with sandwiches, paninis, salads and wraps....They also have nice sides, like homemade pasta salad (which was actually bland on the da we tried it), amazing soup and chips. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the place was rather busy, especially with folks coming in to get coffee. So, they clearly do a lot of coffee business there and it smelled very fresh. The sandwiches we got, we absolutely loved! Be warned though, they’re packed and can be a little messy. Their Ruben was outstanding! Their chicken corn chowder was one of the BEST I’ve ever had! Definitely would return when in the area!!More

My partner and I wanted to take a long drive through the country and treat ourselves to a meal at a unique place we had never been before. We went online and discovered the Woodstock Cafe (about 45 minutes from home) and based on the...excellent reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed and it was worth the drive!! The cafe is situated in the very quaint town of Woodstock, just caddy corner from the colonial-era court house. The setting is lovely; very comfortable, large and roomy. The staff are super friendly and seemed familiar with some of the patrons in the cafe, which gave it a very homey, community friendly feel. The food was absolutely delicious. They had multiple vegetarian options and I really enjoyed the Hippie Chic sandwich on marble rye bread with pasta salad. My partner enjoyed his meal equally. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are quite large. Their dinner menu looks amazing. They also have a wine shop and a gift shop with all sorts of lovely items including chocolate, honey, candles, skin-care, etc... If you're traveling through the Valley and looking for a place to eat and/or purchase some wine/local gifts, this cafe won't disappoint. We can't wait to go back!!!More

This restaurant is a true gem in the town of Woodstock, VA. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and competent, and the service is outstanding. We chose to dine most recently in the outside dining area behind the restaurant on a chilly evening....The tower heater kept us cozy during our meal, and the service was perfect even though our server had to make the trek through the restaurant and store and on to our table outside. We try to dine there a couple of times a month. Also, the wine shop in the Café is diverse and well selected and organized.More

My wife and I recently ate at the Woodstock Cafe. 11:30 AM on Sunday and the place was packed with people. Ordere Breakfast, a piece of Cake and two drinks. Sat at our table, and the wait staff brought our drinks. A little while later...a couple sat down next to us and the woman had what suspiciously looked like the last piece of cake that my wife had ordered moments before. When she went up to counter to ask about her cake it did indeed turn out to be the case, they had re-sold her piece of cake to the lady behind us. Then she was met with snarky comments about whether they should ask the lady to give it back (of course not), then manager came up and said he was sorry then sarcastically said to my wife loud enough for everyone nearby to hear " I know you are perfect, and I'm sorry we ruined your whole day by not giving you your piece of cake" Then they slammed down two pieces of cake on counter with another snarky comment "We just want to make you happy". Eventually our food came, non-descript food, luke warm, cold dry White Bread toast. Basically unremarkable food for the price. Lavender Latte (their specialty supposedly) tasted nothing of lavender either! I know this place has little if any competition, and is favored by local (for some danged reason I can figure out) but I would suggest you stay away.More

We visited 7/31/21 at 2:15 pm, there were about 3 tables eating. We ordered 2 sandwiches to go paid at 2:20 and waited forever. I asked about our order and was rudely told they were working on it. We finally were given our sandwiches 25...minutes later, no “sorry for the delay or anything” . I truly wished I had not purchased $25 of extra items from this establishment, the employees are not thankful for your business.More

We had a delicious meal here with pasta, deep fried calamari and vegetables, heirloom tomatoes, tortellini, and steak. Service was efficient, and the wine list had many interesting choices from Virginia and around the world. The restaurant sells bottles of wine to take home. There...is also a good choice of artisanal brews on tap. My pasta had shrimp, they were perfectly cooked, as was the calamari. The food looked as good as it tasted. Prices are low for the quality offered. The dining room is ordinary, but comfortable and there are outside tables too.More

My family was staying in Basye at Bryce Resort and on the way home decided to stop for lunch at the Woodstock Cafe. We were so glad we did. The food was so good. I had the Asian Chicken wrap with pasta salad. The wrap...was excellent, but I also have to rave about the pasta salad. Usually a side like that is just ordinary, but the ratio of sauce to pasta was just right. Just writing this makes me crave more. We all got something different, and all of us loved our selections. We will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.More

Lovely lunches, promptly served. Evening suppers on selected days are outstanding and accompanied by an interesting wine list. Nikki is the delightful hostess and Jose is her husband as well as the talented chief cook. This is a place not to pass up!

You order at the counter and the wait staff brings the food. They will bring drink refills if you ask. We eat here often and the food is consistently good. We eat a variety of things and have never been disappointed. The dinner service is...even better on the with the food on par with fine dining places. Note: we like to eat at least once per month at finer restaurants and the food at dinner compares very well. The only nit is at lunch, the kitchen can be slow ONLY because they are backed up. Be patient, it is worth the wait.More

They serve wine, champagne etc by the glass or bottle...and beer. Don’t think that they serve other alcohol. They do use alcohol in food preparation from time to time.
