For starters, let me say I love the new Marquette name. The “Golden Eagles” has a certain ring to it that I enjoy very much. With that being said, I was wondering about something said in the article. Was there a certain reason why the students wanted to bring back the old name? I realize that it referred to the Native Americans living in the area and that it was removed for that very reason but I don’t understand why it was wanted to come back. Also, I never knew in 1961 there was a survey to name the warrior Willie Wampum. I enjoyed how you described the history of the logo from as far as it came as well. I appreciate the detail put into this and I enjoyed reading it a lot.
    Sincerely,
    Alex Franklin
