Alex Reid, Miami University's Director of Compliance, has announced the addition of Megan Pontius to his staff and Ryan Swallow has also announced that Cassidy Abner has been promoted to Assistant Director of Learning and Educational Support.
 
Pontius comes to Oxford Ohio after serving as a compliance intern at Northern Illinois the last six months. She worked closely with the track and field program to help monitor student-athlete awards and squad lists while also assisting with initial eligibility evaluations.
 
Prior to NIU, Pontius worked as a Compliance Assistant at the University of Michigan (2019-20), Compliance Intern at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2017-19) and an Extern at the Office of the Committees on Infractions at the NCAA (2018-19).
 
Pontius passed the State Bar of Wisconsin and graduated from Marquette University in May 2019.
 
Abner, a two-time Miami graduate, completed both her bachelor's (2016) and master's degrees (2018) while in Oxford. She came to Miami in 2019 as an Academic Coordinator and served as an Assistant Academic Counselor at the University of Illinois prior to that.
