Peter thinks of everything for you from best way to travel to Bath to suggestions for things to see. This is a clean and hospitable B&B with delicious cooked breakfasts you can choose from a nice little menu. He also arranges a lovely variety of continental breakfast items, all organic & fresh. Loved his playlist too. As soon as we arrived, Peter sat down with us and gave an overview of Bath with an area map, pointing out all the must-see history and attractions (Peter was born & raised here and knows everything about it). Marlborough House is walking distance to all the marvels of this remarkable city at a great value.

We had the pleasure of staying with Peter for two nights. The room was spotless, the bed really comfortable and the special touches such as the sherry, tea / coffee and chocolates in the room all show how much Peter cares about his guests. The breakfast sets you up for the day ( so you can skip lunch ) . This is an exceptional b&b with an exceptional host.

Arrived early afternoon, first time back in Bath in 25 years, the good vibes were plentiful and we set out on foot from Marlborough house to the Crescent via Victoria Park (5 min walk). Warm spring day, sunshine, so stopped in a street cafe on a lovely street called Margaret's Buildings. After dinner slept in a probably the best hotel bed ever. The fridge had a full pitcher of filtered cold water and the side table surprised with a decanter of delicious sherry for the night cap. The interior of the room had been designed and decorated to the smallest detail possible, as a guest I felt the owner kept very close eye on detail Peter's B&B is vegan, and myself not being vegan I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious omelette and other generous breakfast varieties available. Our thanks to Peter and Lily for the best Bath experience!

The Marlborough House was first class in every way. The host very graciously allowed us to check in early and then gave us detailed guidance for our explorations of Bath. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was cooked to order. Many extra touches to enhance the experience - fresh flowers, a carafe of sherry. A very well-run B & B and excellent attention to detail.

Three older ladies having just finished the Cotswold Way we were in need of a little comfort. Marlborough House was just the place for that, large clean and comfortable bedroom with all the facilities we needed (and one or two we didn't know we needed). Peter, having been born in Bath, was very knowledgeable and able to help us with recommendations for dinner (Thai on the Balcony and The Marlborough Tavern were excellent). Highly recommend.

I spent three days in Marlborough House after solo walking Cotswold Way. It was a great place to relax and enjoy. The owner, Peter, is very caring. The room was comfortable and quiet with added amenities - small refrigerator, coffee, tea, and even a carafe of cherry. Breakfast was delicious with addition of fruit and eggs made to order. Peter gave good recommendations about evening meals. Main places of interest were within easy walking distance.

We stayed here for 2 nights after completing the Cotswold Way. Located just off the trail about 1km from the centre of Bath and the end of the trail this is an ideal place to stay . The property is beautifully furnished and the room extremely comfortable. Peter, the owner, is very helpful with a full briefing about Bath on arrival and he provides a fabulous selection at breakfast including lots of fresh fruit yoghurts cereals cooked options and all with gluten free options available. A truly exceptional b and b and one we would highly recommend

We spent a four day city break at the Marlborough House hotel in July. Our host Peter could not have been more friendly and welcoming, providing a great deal of local information on dog friendly restaurants and places to visit. Our room was spacious and very clean. Our stay coincided with a heatwave and we were very grateful for the excellent air conditioning system. Lily, who looked after us very well, made good friends with our dog Jasper. The breakfasts were extremely delicious, my favourite was the omelette! We would not hesitate to recommend a stay at this well situated, comfortable and friendly hotel.

Lovely B and B in a great location in Bath! Our host Peter was delightful and so very helpful. The house is sweet and the beds very comfortable. We were able to walk everywhere from this place. Bath is a wonderful city with the Roman Baths and the Thermal Spa. From there we were able to do a tour of the Cotswolds. Breakfast was wonderful including cooked dishes with the help of Lilly, a sweet lady who accommodated all our needs. I would recommend this place for a stay in Bath!

This was our longest stay during the 2 week trip to England. Peter made us so welcome and comfortable. He greeted us at the door and went through a full orientation to Bath even working out a little walking tour for us for the afternoon to get our bearings. He was so helpful with questions about getting around, day trips outside of Bath, recommendations on where to eat, and even made the arrangements to get us to the train station on time when we left. The food was amazing every morning. A quiet location outside the busy area of town but not too far to walk. Very close to the Royal Crescent and Victoria Park. We have more we want to see in that area and will definitely stay with Peter again.

Hello there, do you happen to have space on 3rd December for a couple and our ten year old daughter?
Answer from PeterRichardBath
Nov 2016 |
Thank you so much for enquiring about available accommodation at the Marlborough House. I apologise for the tardy reply - I had my internet go down and have just got it fixed - thank goodness - but loads of emails to wade through!! And I realise that you may have already secured accommodation elsewhere. And having said all that, I am really sorry to tell you this but we are already fully booked out for the 2nd & 3rd December 2016. I do have availability for a family en-suite room for any of the following nights: 27th November through to and including the 1st December or for the 4th December through to and including the 8th December 2016. Or for the 11th December through to and including the 18th December 2016. Now I realise that the alternative dates might not work for you. But if they do then please do not hesitate to get back to us, as we would love to have you stay here, and I can let you know best rates for booking direct and not via an “on-line” Kind regards and hope to hear back from you in due course.
