When is the first episode of Surface on Apple TV+?

Apple TV+ has been developing so much great content recently, and one show that has been added to its library is the highly-anticipated psychological thriller, Surface. The limited series was created by Veronica West for Apple Studios and Hello Sunshine.

The upcoming show centers around Sophie, a woman who has suffered a traumatic head injury that has left her with extreme memory loss. She and her husband, James, live in the high-end part of San Francisco. Everyone around her tells her her head injury was due to a suicide attempt.

Why would someone seemingly living a perfect life try to take their own? She begins to question whether what her husband and friends are telling her is actually the truth. And, a shocking love triangle also comes into play. The series is a story of self-discovery that contemplates whether we’re pre-programmed to become who we are, or if we choose our own identity.

When is the first episode of Surface on Apple TV+?

Surface is set to premiere on Friday, July 29 with the first three episodes. It will then drop one new episode weekly, until the season finale is released on Sept. 2. There is a total of eight episodes this season.

Hello Sunshine was founded by actress Reese Witherspoon. She serves as one of the executive directors for Surface. Directors on the new show include Sam Miller, Kevin Sullivan, and Jennifer Morrison.

The one front and center is actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who plays Sophie. She stars alongside Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Sophie’s husband James, Stephan James as Baden, Ari Graynor as Caroline, Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Hannah, François Arnaud as Harrison, and Millie Brady as Eliza.

Surface premieres Friday, July 29 on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes.
