Casting: Margot Bingham joins The Walking Dead in season 11

The Walking Dead adds Margot Bingham to the season 11 cast as Stephanie

The world of The Walking Dead is getting a little bit bigger with the announcement that Margot Bingham is joining the cast in season 11. Eagle-eyed TWD fans know that Bingham already appeared on the show in season 10 but now AMC is making her casting official for season 11.

AMC announced that Bingham will play Stephanie in season 11. Fans already met Stephanie in The Walking Dead’s season 10 when Eugene started talking with a mysterious woman in another community thanks to a Russian satellite signal boost with Hilltop’s radio.

Bingham, who starred in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, is currently working on a pair of series, Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It as well as NBC’s New Amsterdam, which suggests that she won’t appear too frequently in season 11 if she is continuing with two other shows. Then again, everything is up in the air given the current production shutdown and it is possible that she could appear on all three shows depending on their filming schedules.

At first, Eugene and the mysterious woman kept things simple during their secret conversations, stopping short of sharing details that could reveal their locations. After a while, though, their conversations took a more personal turn. Eventually, Rosita convinced Eugene to go find Stephanie because life in the apocalypse is too short to waste on what might have been.

Toward the end of the season, Eugene, Yumiko and Ezekiel went on a mission to meet Stephanie, hoping that she might be able to offer assistance in the fight against the Whisperers. Along the way, they connected with the enigmatic Princess, and now they are all continuing on to find Stephanie and (hopefully) save their friends.

It has been a long dry spell since the penultimate episode of The Walking Dead aired in April. Now fans are looking ahead to the cast’s appearance at Comic-Con at Home on July 24, where news about the upcoming season will likely be revealed.
