Howard, Margaret Mary Flint, MI Age 92, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning and Rev. Fr. Stephen Reckker con celebrants. Entombment will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10AM until the time of the Mass on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. A Rosary will be prayed at 11 AM before Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or the North End Soup Kitchen, in Margaret's memory. Margaret was born in Port Huron, MI at home on February 22, 1930, daughter of the late Stephen James and Agnes Cecelia (Netter) Reckker. She married Robert John Howard, Sr. on May 28, 1955, celebrating 45 years together. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2000. Margaret retired from the Flint Journal after 22 years. She raised 7 children as a loving and devoted mother. She was adamant that her children were taught to swim, for them to find out later that she could not swim herself. Margaret was an active and dedicated member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, Altar Society and Eucharistic Minister. She liked to crochet as well as golf and bowl with her friends. Margaret was well loved and will be missed by many. Margaret is survived by her children, Robert John Howard, Jr., Stephen Ralph (Hyon Suk) Howard, Mary Elizabeth (William Joseph) Kontyko, Christopher James Howard, John Edward (Lisa Ann) Howard and Edward James (Lori Lynette) Howard; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 siblings, James Reckker, Fr. Stephen Reckker and Agnes Kleckner; brother-in-law, James Ropposch; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty "Elizabeth" Ropposch; son, Michael William Howard and niece, Joan McTevia. Please share your thoughts with the family at www.allenfuneralhomeinc.com

So sorry to hear the news. I have so many fond memories of Mrs. Howard from Girl Scouts and Holy Rosary days as well as from when my brothers were in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was a good friend to my late mother Loretta as well. A very kind and caring person. My condolences to the Howard Family and especially my school years friend Mary.
