Excited to try but so disappointed with food and service. Ambiance was interesting concept, like eating at a grocery store food court.
The servers behind the counter were more concerned about talking to coworkers and throwing food than providing customer service. After we ordered we overheard someone say they didn't know how to make our entree and it was obvious when it was brought out. We couldn't believe it, the food was so horrible, expected better Jasper.

Drive on by and don't waste your money.

I had the Chicken Marco Pollo! Excellent. Chicken, spinach and cheese stuff in large breaded ball. It came with delicious fried potatoes. Family had chicken Parmigiano that came with pasta. We also brought home the coconut cake & tiramisu that were both so fresh and delicious! The staff was impressive at the counter!

We have been to Jasper's several times and wanted to try out Marco Polo's. Loved Jaspers and heard good things about Marco Polo's. So, stopped in to get a to go order for lunch.

Got an Italian Hero sub and a large Spinach Salad. Give the Italian Hero 4 stars. It was a good combination of meats and plenty of them. The bread was a good hardy crust Italian sub, however the bread was almost too hard. Literally had to break off a piece. Otherwise, would have given it 5 stars. Good value for the price, I think it was about $9

The Spinach salad was a big disappointment. First, let me say it comes with gorgonzola cheese, which we are allergic to. So, had them hold the gorgonzola. Sitting here writing this review I am not sure why they did not offer another cheese. Got home and opened the salad box. Basically, for $8 we got a box of spinach, some crotons and a small container of salad dressing. Would have given this 2 stars, at best. Disappointing value for the money.

Combing what we had I averaged it out to 3 stars.

In spite of only a 3-star review do plan on going back to try some others items, but definitely not the spinach salad

I know this may be a controversial opinion but pasta has just never been my best buddy in the food world, like it's an acquaintance who always ends up at the same parties but someone, or rather something, I always end up trying to avoid. And to make things worse, there's no real reason, I'm not gluten intolerant, I'm not where near low carb, and I'm definitely not adverse to noodles (and yes pasta and noodles are inherently different fight me on this one). Now with all of this being said, once in awhile I'll find myself craving a big bowl of Italian pasta for a reasonable price and Marco Polo's always comes to mind. This off shoot of the fancier Jasper's, located next door but essentially in the same restaurant, is the perfect spot to grab a big heaping portion of penne (or fettuccine, rigatoni, spaghetti... you're getting the point) at a great price point. They also offer incredible daily specials which even include a scoop of gelato to top it off, all for around $12?! Bellissimo! The last night I went the special happened to be Italian meatloaf, which though sounding delicious, decadent and hearty was not what I came searching for. Bring me the big bowl of spaghetti! Or in this case buttery linguine noodles tossed in a creamy briney clam sauce, usually I prefer white sauce over red sauce however, I am not the biggest fan of alfredo so, this lighter cream sauce was perfect since it had more butter and olive oil than heavy cream. The pasta was slippery little suckers and gave me a hard time since I was trying to shove them down my throat as fast as I could, it was hitting the spot for sure, but I didn't mind the challenge. And the bread was a great vessel in order to sop up all that extra buttery goodness at the bottom of the bowl. I left completely satisfied and with a whole to go box of pasta to enjoy again, which I definitely did (maybe or maybe not in the middle of the night).
Marco Polo's is a good fast casual option, especially for large family to go orders it seems, with above average quality Italian food for an incredibly affordable price.

One of my favorite dishes is Eggplant Parmigiana. And these folks know how to do one superbly !! Great staff and a convenient place for take out. !P.S. The cheese cake was delicious also !

      The "Real Deal" Italian Deli

located near the intersection of I-435 and State Line Road, on 103rd Street, you can find an Italian Deli that rivals anything you might find in Kansas City's North End!

Yes, it is in the Watts Mill strip mall, but it does overlook the babbling Indian Creek and is well shielded from the nearby traffic.

Coming through the door you know immediately that you are in a Deli. The curved display cases and aroma from the kitchen tell the story - prepare yourself for a spicy and flavorful meal!

Along with an amazing assortment of traditional Italian dishes, they feature some of the best Italian sandwiches and paninis around. For example, my favorite is the Italian Hero: Roast Beef, Ham, Salami, Italian Dressing, Provolone, lettuce, tomatoes and onions on crispy Italian bread. Also available with Turkey or Capicola in place of Roast Beef and Salami for an affordable $8.50.

For the serious traditionalist there are pastas, meatballs, egg plant, and all the cheeses you could want.

Recommendation: So when you have had your fill of Americanized Suburban faux Italian sandwich shops, Marco Polo's Italian Market is there for you.

COVID-19 Considerations: Limited inside seating, social distancing enforced, mask required for customers when not seated, staff wears masks and gloves, outdoor seating available, curbside delivery and carryout are available.

I was super excited to try this place, we went around 3pm. I got the Ruben sandwich. Not impressed at all, hardly any Corned Beef I couldn't even taste the sauerkraut. Not worth the price.

This used to be great place to eat and pick up a few items for home cooking. Stopped mid-day to get a late lunch when very few people were there. After waiting 45+ minutes for a pizza, we asked the status. We're told it always takes more than 35 minutes. Still had not been served drinks, so asked if we could get them. Later, the waiter who took our order asked if we needed anything else. We reminded him we had ordered a pizza. Another person then informed us the order has never been turned in to the kitchen. We were then asked what we wanted to do. We said we just wanted a refund. One of the owners asked what could do. Offer a plan. Don't make us feel guilty for wasting precious weekend time. It will be long time before I return. But I have to because I was using a birthday gift card. Poor service makes eating out unbearable.

This is a really really authentic Italian market/restaurant. I have lived in the KC area most of my life and had no idea this was here! My husband was begging me to go. Glad we did because the food was SO good! It's also quick, fast and easy. I know this is odd to say, but it almost brought me to tears because my grandpa (who has passed) used to make a spaghetti sauce that was phenomenal. Well, their sauce tastes so similar to my grandpas! It is amazing! And their coconut pie also tasted like the homemade pie my grandma used to make. Brought back lots of memories. Highly recommend. Food is DEFINITELY made with lots of love! Just like my grandparents used to make

After a long day of house decorating, my husband and I decided on getting some food from Marco Polo's ... we walked in at 8:30... and after a minute one of the owners came over and told us they were closed, but he said he could get an order
In for us. (The side door we came In wasn't locked). He served us when he was already closed by a half an hour! He was happy and accommodating to us. We walked out with piping hot food and it was delicious! .. as always! Love this place!
