This was the best restaurant we have ever visited in Venice. The food was really delicious, restaurant offers typical italian food and also sea food, which is sometimes rare in the Venice centre (very ofte you can find only sea food). For lovers of a...good wine, there is a wide range of kinds, we can definitely recommend the Extry Dry Prosecco. The prices were good for the city centre, restaurants in the neighbourhood were often much more expensive. The host was really, really kind and nice! Its evident that he really cares about his customers, he tries to sweeten the time when you are waiting for a free table and he comunicates. Its also nice thaht if you visit the restaurant more than once, the host can very appreciate that you are kind of a "regular" guest. It was a big pleasure to eat in this restaurant!More

Very good food for reasonable prices. Probably one of the best Risottos ever. The size of the portion is very good for the price and the food is freshly cooked. The waiter was very kind as well and not too intrusive. Only minus, there are...very few seats outside and only for a group of two.More

Wonderful start to our trip to Venice. Delicious everything. Great service. We made reservations online a few hours prior. We didn't score a balcony table, but had a partial window view. It was terribly hot, and the waiter set up a fan on us without...us asking. It was such a relief. The standout dishes were the octopus salad, which had a sauce I could have licked up... The seafood risotto was soooo delicious. I have wanted it since I visited 8 years ago. It did not disappoint. Total meal, including 2 apps, 2 primis, and a bottle of wine was just about $100 USD. Lovely.More

We had lunch at this lovely restaurant, we loved it, the food was fabulous. Every course was creatively made regarding presentation, taste & quality. The service was excellent, so helpful & informative. We ordered the noodles with boneless crab meat (recommended) and pasta with hot...sauce as a first meal both were excellent. As a second meal we ordered the baked sea bass with vegetables and the mixed grilled fish, they were perfect. Thank you so much. Travelers should put it on must go to list.More

First thing i did was sitting outside on the canal where the view of the canal and flowers was simply breath taking. The service was amazing and the food was incredibly astonishing according to the price i paid for a whole experience (Antipasto misto pesce,...spaghetti sea food and baked sea bass with vegetables. Me and my wife were offered grappa and limoncello in the end. Special thanks to the Professional staff and their recommendations, they were honest about the quality of the food and how fresh it was. Friendly atmosphere, i do recommend visiting Trattoria Dona Onesta for everyone , Also another tip frome me, ask about the story behind the place and where was the dona onesta living.More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, they made a reservation for an outside table for dinner which was super romantic, the food was excellent, service was friendly and attentive. We had the mixed fish starter which was very fresh, huge and tasty Then two...pasta plates which was delicious as well. Will recommend this restaurant for sure and will definitely be back. This was absolutely and hands-down our best dining experience while in Venice. The service was wonderful and friendly and the food was just as good and you could tell thoughtful detail went into each dish. The view from the canal tables can not be beat....Would absolutely recommend. Our server was Madonna, she did a fabulous job— also we should mention that we took the server’s recommendation for the entire meal. All three courses were excellent and we would not have changed a thing. Thank you Madonna and staff!More

My family landed here after our first choice ended up not having enough seating. The menu offered a nice range of affordable options, and importantly there was plenty of space for our family of five. Service was reasonably prompt (not a feat since we had...arrived early and there weren’t many people there). We made our menu selections, and were informed our first two wine choices were “out.” So they brought or third choice wine, and as they poured it informed us one of our menu sections was also out, so that was frustrating. The complimentary bread was plentiful, but underwhelming. Otherwise the food was good, but not great.More

We went to this restaurant at the beginning of December with my roommates with whom I am on Erasmus in Milan, in a very quiet period. Seduced by the excellent rating, the favourable reviews and a charming setting, we expected to enjoy this dinner with...friends. A frozen seafood starter that lacked consistency (hot and cold) and very average Spaghetti alle vongole quickly turned us off. The pasta sauce was quite good in itself but the pasta was too much like Barilla n*7. The chardonnay was also way too expensive for what it was. Surprised, and disappointed, we tried the desserts (a toxic relationship?): two frozen and reheated cakes also completed the disappointment. At least the waiter was friendly and smiling but this is not enough to justify the rating of this restaurant, which is more like a tourist trap than a typical Italian restaurant.More

Our first visit to this restaurant was enjoyable. The service was friendly and the food was good. We’d only had main courses, my husband enjoyed fillet steak whilst I enjoyed baked sea bass. Unfortunately the steak arrived some time before the fish, not ideal when...you want to enjoy a meal together, but the waiter was apologetic and the fish was delicious and worth waiting for. We decided to book an outside table for another evening as these looked nice, but sadly this ended in disappointment. We arrived 10 minutes early, conscious not to be late as we’d been told we could only have the table for 90 minutes. The same waiter who’d served us just a couple of days earlier abruptly asked if we’d booked, and rudely informed us our table was at 1930 and that it was only 1920, we’d have to wait. Whilst totally understanding that our table wasn’t ready, we were shocked by his rude and abrupt tone, as was the owner of the restaurant who tried to resolve the situation. Unfortunately the damage was done and we felt uncomfortable staying. With so many wonderful restaurants in Venice rudeness cannot be accepted, we chose to eat elsewhere, and are very glad we did. This isn’t a bad restaurant, we wouldn’t have returned if it was, but the customer service needs to be improved.More

Me and my girlfriend had our last meal before leaving from Venice and we definitely had the best meal during our vacation. I ordered the baked fish (recommended from the waiter) and my girlfriend had the mixed seafood starter (which was so huge, an explosion...of flavors and colors, we loved it!). The service was so friendly and polite. We wish to visit again during our next trip.More

This place definitely deserves being one of the best in Venice. We loved everything during our dinner, from the delicious food to the relaxing background music, the very polite and professional service and surprisingly the very affordable check despite being in one of the most...beautiful and touristic cities. Reservations are recommended! Dona onesta is located well off the main buzz yet it still offers a charming setting. While small, especially the tables on the balconies, it is made up by it’s surrounding. The service rendered and food were very very good (fresh and...well prepared) and left us with a lasting impression! We throughly enjoyed the lunch at Dona onesta.More

We had very high expectations after reading the reviews for this restaurant, however, we left extremely disappointed. I am never ever one to leave a bad review but I don’t want anyone else to fall into this overpriced, poor quality tourist trap. First of all,...the wine list was dramatically inflated, as the night before we had the same bottle of wine in a different, central restaurant for €10 less! Service was very unfriendly, slow and neglectful so initially it took us roughly 20 minutes to order our drinks and then another 20 for our food order. We made the HUGE mistake of ordering the seafood risotto for two… please, do not get this! The price is €20 per person and there is not one ounce of fresh seafood, the ‘prawns’ were minuscule shrimps and then just mussels. It was literally shrimp and mussel risotto. Portions were small too which made it even worse (see photo)! It is also important to note that we were practically the last ones in the restaurant by the end and still hadn’t got our food after 45 minutes! I am never one to want my food in a rush, but in the time we got the bottle of wine to the food coming we had finished it. Stay AWAY from this restaurant! It is severely overpriced and not good in any way!More
