In fact, Moore and Goldsmith first met in a very modern way: over Instagram. Moore, who was a fan of Goldsmith’s band, took a picture of their album and posted it. "Real excited about this one," she wrote on May 17, 2015. "Have a feeling it’s going to be the soundtrack of my summer."
"Somehow, Taylor saw it and sent a note to me," Moore told People. "We started emailing back and forth, then we went on a date and the rest is history. Thanks Instagram, for helping me meet my fiancé!"

They first started dating that year, but kept things private at first, People reports, because Moore was still finalizing her divorce from musician Ryan Adams. The magazine also reported that Moore and Adams had been separated for a long time, and rarely saw one another, before their split became official; their divorce became official in June 2016.
As Moore and Goldsmith started to get serious, they had to deal with being long-distance, especially when Goldsmith's band was on tour. "We spent hours FaceTiming each other," Moore told People. "We fell in love before we’d even really held hands or kissed or anything. It was great."
The two of them have taken time to support each other’s careers. Goldsmith flew across the country to support Moore at the Emmys in 2017:

The couple got engaged at their home in September 2017, according to journalist Marc Malkin. "He was petrified," a source told Malkin. "Mandy said yes and is so happy."
Moore shared the news in a group text chain with her This Is Us costars. "She just sent a photo and just wanted us all to know that this just happened, and so then we went on a response spree for about a day and a half,” Chris Sullivan told Entertainment Tonight.

In an interview with Shape magazine in December 2017, Moore revealed she and Goldsmith had found a house together. "When we move, I’ll feel like I finally have a place to hang my hat. Nearly a year later, after an extensive renovation, Moore finally opened the doors of their 1950s Pasadena home nestled in the California city’s private hills.
"It still amazes me. We saw the potential of this house and brought it back to life," she said in the July issue of Architectural Digest.

Then for our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the 'A' (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and 'T' (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt. Felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day."
