Ahead of the full release of their July 2024 solicitations, Marvel has unveiled a first look at the comics from the new Ultimate Universe line that will be coming out that month.

Ultimates #2 will come out on July 10. It will be written by Deniz Camp and drawn by Juan Frigeri, with a cover by Dike Ruan. The reveal of the cover comes accompanied with the following blurb teasing the events of the upcoming comic:

More shocking secrets of the Ultimate Universe are revealed in Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri’s ULTIMATES #2. Captain America reckons with the Maker's dismantling of nations… by visiting the White House. Cap’s arrival leads to a massive brawl between the villain known as Midas and this young band of freedom fighters, but Midas has been holding a superhuman hostage as a power source! Plus, discover the dark history of what used to be the United States on Earth-6160…

Ultimate Iron Lad is also poised to make an appearance in Ultimate Spider-Man #7, out on July 3.

I gotta say, it's going to be a breath of fresh air if Cap turns out to be the hotheaded one and Tony the sensible one in their dynamic in this universe. Really good palate cleanser after the way the MCU popularized their relationship being framed as "Steve: 'Tony no!', Tony: 'Tony yes!'"

Also glad that we're getting a guest-appearance in Ultimate Spidey. Ults Tony is back and in full force!

The relationship you described is definitely something I'm ok with.

As long as Steve is still a good person, and not the "This doesn't stand for France" lol.

He is also in his 20s anyway technically right? It's not like he was 45 when he went into the ice lol.

I can definitely see where Steve is coming from if this is how their dynamic develops, considering Tony was molded into this status quo, whereas Steve is going to wake up extra confused and extra pissed that he went MIA fighting facism only to wake up in a world under a totalitarian thumb. Much bigger whiplash than just waking up in the future.

That'd be really cool and makes sense since 6160 Tony hadn't grown into his playboy phase when he became Iron Lad.

I’m looking forward to see how 6160 Tony and Steve’s dynamic plays out.

Considering Tony isn't as bold as his ultimate/616 counterpart being always that one pro-play-safe guy while Reed/Doom is his uncle of wisdom.
Prolly Cap thought of something and Tony immediately objects to the idea maybe?

Wasp: “Alright gang, time to decorate the med bay with a bunch of American flags.”

Ant-man: “…What? Why?”

Wasp: “You’re a fallen WW2 solider who abruptly wakes up in a high-tech medical lab surrounded by masked men and a blonde viking.”

Ant-man: “You’re right. I’d start throwing punches immediately.”
