    Middle School Allied Health Pathway:

The Allied Health Pathway for Middle School Students offers a dynamic three-year curriculum designed to introduce students to key concepts in healthcare, medical terminology, health, and bioscience.

Year 1: Medical Terminology (6th Grade)

In the first year, students will dive into medical terminology, learning the language of healthcare. They will explore prefixes, suffixes, root words, and the structure of medical terms. This foundational knowledge will set the stage for deeper exploration in later years.

    Year 2: Health (7th Grade)

The second year focuses on health and wellness. Students will learn about nutrition, exercise, mental health, and healthy lifestyle choices. They will also explore common health issues and diseases, and strategies for promoting health and preventing illness.

Year 3: Principles of Bioscience (8th Grade)

In the final year of the program, students will study the principles of bioscience as they relate to healthcare. They will learn about cells, genetics, anatomy, physiology, and the scientific basis of healthcare. This year will provide a solid foundation for students interested in pursuing further studies or careers in the allied health field.

Throughout the program, students will engage in hands-on activities, projects, and field trips to healthcare facilities to enhance their learning experience. By the end of the program, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of healthcare, medical terminology, health, and bioscience, preparing them for future academic and career opportunities in the allied health field.
