The Village of Key Biscayne is a family-friendly environment that welcomes residents from around the world. One reason many families choose to live in our Island Paradise is many educational options that are available.

Miami-Dade Public Schools

Key Biscayne K-8 Center: The Key Biscayne K-8 Center, also called the Key Biscayne Community School, is the largest school within the Village with classes from kindergarten to grade 8. Additionally, there is a lottery for parents who would like to enroll their children in the limited Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program as well as the ESL Cambridge program. Please contact the school for more information about the enrollment and the lottery options.

This is the designated “home” school by Miami-Dade Public School for residents of the Village of Key Biscayne.

Coral Gables Senior High: Just about 11 miles from Key Biscayne, Coral Gables Senior High offers high school level classes (grades 9 – 12) as well as a variety of special placement programs including an IB Magnet program, dual enrollment and a variety of school academies. Please contact the school for more information about the enrollment and special programs.

This is the designated “home” school by Miami-Dade Public School for residents of the Village of Key Biscayne.

MAST Academy (Virginia Key): The Maritime and Science Technology Academy (MAST) is a magnet school within the Miami-Dade Public School System. Students from throughout the county, including Key Biscayne, can apply to the program through an annual lottery system. Additionally, In 2012, the school added Cambridge Program with specific programs in two tracks, STEM and Global Studies in addition to a middle school Pre-Cambridge Program. The Village of Key Biscayne has entered into an agreement with Miami-Dade Public Schools giving qualified students from the Village of Key Biscayne limited, priority admission to the Cambridge STEM, Cambridge Global and Pre-Cambridge programs (about 450 seats per academic year).
