Stopped in for a late lunch. They offer a large salad bar which looked quite tempting, but I didn't get it. It comes with 2 cups of soup, but as I was in Maine and wanted a type of "fish" soup, and this is not...even an option here, I opted for the Lobster Stew, (and ordered extra Lobster" for extra $) on it's own instead of the salad and tomato soup. It seems they should be able to offer a cup of chowder as an option, even if they charge you a $1 or two more... The Lobster stew was ok. All the versions I have had have been a thin, not creamy base, and there are always lots of chunks of lobster. The stew I ordered with Extra Lobster had only 3 pieces in the whole bowl... I would not order this again. I would probably visit this restaurant again if I was in the area and try a baked seafood dish or something with the salad bar, but probably won't go out of my way to go here.More

My family of four came here for dinner recently. We had eaten at Bob's Clam Hut on our way north thru Kittery and wanted to try a different place on our return trip south. While Bob's may be more well-known, we enjoyed the food at...Warren's more and felt it provided a better value. What made the difference to me was the large salad bowl that came with the entrees, the complementary pumpkin bread, the huge size of the clam chowder bowl, the generous portion lobster roll and the extra melted butter that came with it. The kids' enjoyed their entrees (burger and mac&cheese). The mac&cheese entree was generous enough that my son had the left over as an appetizer for lunch the next day. Being off the main shopping strip, the restaurant was not as crowded as Bob's which made for a more relaxed dining experience. I'm glad we came to Warren's and would recommend it to friend's passing thru Kittery.More

Can't believe I have lived a bit north of Boston for almost 30 years and have never been to Warren's until recently. They are just what I want, we vacation a lot in southern Jersey in the summer and I am used to the lobster...house style restaurants down there, family owned, good value, on the water etc and Warrens is all of that. It isn't fancy, but it is a great deal, food is excellent and everyone is very friendly, if you want a city fancy restaurant then maybe not the place for you, but if you just want a casual no frills lunch or dinner for a great deal, this is the place for you!More

Maybe you would like this. We avoid salad bar places but have been to Warren’s twice with a group of six. Both times we were doing a winter special of salad bar for $12.99 with some extra menu items at ridiculously low prices. The salad...bar is extensive and has nearly everything imaginable so is worth the price. Casting aside my aversion based on sanitary concerns, I put together a tasty salad. The pumpkin bread that people rave about was fine, but not special. Bloody Mary’s at $1 were excellent, especially with the extra horseradish the waiter graciously supplied on request. After that, the other things we tried were abominable. Bay scallops with “crab” topping were overcooked beyond edibility. The topping was so browned as to be almost burnt and the scallops were tough like tiny rubber balls, I couldn’t eat much and wish I hadn’t even wasted a dollar on them. My husband and a friend said the Lobster Rangoon wasn’t good either and they didn’t finish theirs. My husband’s baked haddock with lobster stuffing was similarly bad. The lobster looked like lobster but didn’t taste at all like it. So while these things were inexpensive, it wasn’t a bargain to get food we couldn’t eat.More

A meal for one cost me sixty bucks. Their seafood combo plate came with 8 clams 4 scallops and a handful of fries. $27.99 for a morsel. Then they charged me $3.49 for a small black cup of coffee. They charged me $3.99 for fries...that were supposed to come with the meal. It literally looked like the cook and waitstaff ate a bunch of food off the plate before it arrived to me. I am a long time resident of Kittery (60 years). I will never be back. Go to Weathervane; their admirals platter has 4 times the food. And it is the same price. Weathervanes wait staff is also more polite. Time to turn the place into a disco. Because your time as a restaurant has long gone past. Never again. I am very angry. Total waste of money.More

Warren’s is having their special $1 menu. Make sure you ask for the special menu. The deal is, purchase the best salad bar (unlimited visits) for $12.99 and get specials for $1 each. Beverages for $1 each like a Bloody Mary, beer, wine. Apps and...entrees for a $1. It’s a deal and a half. They are known for their pumpkin bread and you can have as much as you like as it is on the salad bar and this is the biggest salad bar I have ever been to. They keep it fresh, plentiful and clean. Nothing ever runs out. They have over 60 items on this salad bar including two different soups, cheeses, breads, hummus, pickled mushrooms, beets and on and on. This is a winter special only. My wife and I went last night for the winter dollar menu. We had the salad bar which is always good for $12.99. We added a beer for $1 and a seafood sampler for $2. The beer was good but the seafood sampler was very...disappointing. There were 2 small shrimp and two very tiny pieces of fish with stuffing. The dish was mostly stuffing. Our bill was $34 before the tip. Was it a bargain? Not really.More

My hubby and I went to lunch at Warrens this past Sat. July 24. We ordered steamers, they did not serve real butter with steamers, it taste like oil mixed with margarine. Aweful. The lobster casserole I ordered was dry, over cooked, no flavor, served...with there fake butter. The lobster roll my hubby ordered was tasteless. The clam chowder had no clam flavor, just chicken flavor. This use to be a great place to eat, not any more. You would think the prices they charge they would serve real butter with the seafood. We will never go back.More

Some American restaurants have a long history and fall into the "Legendary" category. Warren's Lobster House is that caliber of restaurant. They have it all: Excellent food, great service, generous portions and a friendly, caring staff. We were staying in Portsmouth, New Hampshire just across...the state line from Warren's, which is in Kittery, Maine. A key "to do" goal of our vacation is getting my wife, Elaine, a good lobster every few days. So, during breakfast we asked one of our hotel's breakfast staff if there was a good restaurant in town for lobster. She recommended Warren's as one of the best in the area. (Even though it was in Maine; not New Hampshire.) So, we put Warren's address in our car's GPS, traveled over the bridge and went to see if Warren's deserved its reputation. We were pleasantly rewarded! They had quite a bit of seating. Even with a full parking lot we managed to get a table right away. Then, we met Lexee, our waitress, who guided us to a perfect lunch. My wife had her 1 1/4 lb lobster with a baked potato. ($31.99) I enjoyed a Haddock Fish & Chips dinner, plus a bowl of delicious Clam Chowder soup ($5.99). Included with both of our dinners was Warren's sumptuous salad bar. What literally made this visit an experience was our wonderful waitress, Lexee. She was patient with our questions, caring and super friendly. Lexee even took a great picture of us, with my wife's lobster, in the foreground. I strongly recommend you visit Warren's. It's a memory you won't forget. (Please be sure to see my photos.)More

A friend and I had dinner here. She's a regular customer, and I usually eat here a few times a year. She had the salad bar and baked salmon, I had a bowl of clam chowder. Everything was good, although I've had better chowder (too...many potatoes, not enough clams). Their homemade pumpkin bread is so good and so popular that they sell it by the loaf, and I got one to go. Warren's is old-school and has been around for 80 years since they opened in 1940 as a six-stool lobster shack. People love this place, especially seniors and tourists. Their salad bar is known as the best one on the NH/southern Maine coast.More

Food was good but very over priced. I ordered lobster stew with extra lobster meat and it was basically a huge bowl of lobster bisque with maybe 5 chunks of lobster. My husband had a lobster roll that was $37, very tasty with Ritz cracker...crumbs on top & baked but pretty pricey since it came just with fries. They have a nice outdoor deck. Not sure if I would return.More

While the food was good, the atmosphere has not changed in over 30 years. The same tables and chairs and the same outdated decor made it unappealing for lunch. We only stayed because of the food. We ordered several lunch specials including the lobster stew...with double meat. Thanks for the additional lobster otherwise the dish would have failed to deliver a quality product. It was worth the additional expense. The signature pumpkin bread was a hit as were the clams on the half shell, garden salad, and stuffed shrimp. The portion sizes were small compared to other restaurants neatly. Just know their profits are made by reducing the food quantity but maintaining good food quality. Is there a recommendation here. The answer is “no”. The management needs to do better even during a pandemic. The reputation will only go so far before people go elsewhere to eat.More

There are probably at least a half dozen better places in the York-Kittery area alone, so why bother eating at WLH? The hook, pun intended, is a salad bar. My fellow TA reviewers clued me into avoiding it like the plague, which kidding aside, I...understand some customers have gotten. I had the lobster roll and chowder. They were okay but nothing special. Onion rings tasted like they were frozen. Seafood's expensive, so why waste your money at an obvious tourist trap like WLH?More

We don't get to Maine often enough, but when we do, Warren's is a must! They have great lobster and seafood, at better prices than further north in the big city tourist spots. They are also known for their bountiful salad bar, which won't disappoint...you. On this trip, we ordered the lobster claws and bowl of chowder, which was absolutely delicious, and provided plenty of lobster with less effort than the total lobster (and not quite as messy). Michelle was our server and I highly recommend asking for her. She was friendly, efficient and a perfect server. Warren's is a little difficult to find, but with GPS (or local instructions) you'll get there, down on the harbor. You can get a table with a view and you'll be delighted with your meal. Their hours are limited, and they close at 2:00 pm, so call ahead for the time on the day you are arriving. I give them an A+ for food, service and location, with my highest recommendation. Note: Google them for a coupon to print out and save yourself $5-$10 bucks.More
