Little Britain USA wasn't quite as big as its British equivalent, but never fear! David Walliams is on hand to remind fans exactly what they missed in all its naked glory.

In a picture that may or may not have caused us to choke on our mid-morning brew, David shared a throwback image of him and Matt Lucas' characters the 'Gym Buddies'.

"Morning workout done," he wrote alongside the kind-of-but-not-really NSFW photo on Instagram.

(We know 10 years is a long time, but haven't David and Matt aged terribly, eh? OK, there may have been some prosthetics going on there...)

David's throwback features Little Britain USA characters Mark and Tom, two bodybuilders who liked to brag about their love lives but were actually secretly gay. It's more than a little homophobic in hindsight, really.

Fortunately, David and Matt are well aware that some (if not all) of their Little Britain skits would be considered a little too close to the bone if they aired now.

Earlier this year, co-creator David echoed Matt's statement that their comedy was sometimes "cruel", conceding that they would "definitely" make the show "differently" now.

"It's hard to say specifically how it would be different. There's all kinds of tolerances that change. People understand people's predicaments more now," he said.

"Maybe it's, 'We see this differently, we've got more information,' and it would be a different type of joke. I wouldn't rule out anything because I basically think you have to be able to make jokes about everything, everyone. Otherwise there is no point having comedy."
